Over the course of the past year, Bottle Flipping has become a trending craze among kids of various age groups. The game is incredibly simple: all you need to play is a water bottle that is at least half filled with liquid. The object of the game is to toss the bottle and see if you can make it land upright on an array of surfaces.
The game quickly gained traction on social media platforms such as YouTube where players who could land bottles on the smallest surfaces got the most praise. The seemingly addictive popularity of the easy-to-learn-and-play game, led to a company known as RedwoodVentures to release their own unique--and more detailed--version of the action-packed bottle flipping skill game which they humorously and fittingly dubbed "Flippin' Off."
The company subsequently launched a Kickstarter campaign on April 24, 2017, dedicated to the “Flippin’ Off” game.
They have hopes of raising $10,000 to generate interest in this version of the popular game which is due to go into production later this year. The campaign is currently live and will run through the summer.
Campaign
“Flippin' Off” by RedwoodVentures operates on the same principles as the traditional “bottle flip” concept, but it involves additional play features such as cards, dice, and caps. The idea of the game came from RedwoodVentures Brand Manager, Jason Miranda, after seeing his thirteen-year-old son flipping a bottle with his friends.
“Shortly after I banned him from flipping in the house we came up with the idea for the game,” said Jason. “Kickstarter seemed like a great platform to get our game in front of as many people as possible who are looking for cool ideas to support.
We wanted to make a game that was fun for everyone and didn’t only rely on landing crazy trick shots.”
The game is played fast to ensure that no one gets bored waiting for their turn and the game was specifically designed to bring forth the competitive spirit in everyone. Hence, the game includes lots of fun elements like the opportunity to steal bottles, use cheater caps and block plays with “chance” cards.
Upcoming
Ultimately, Jason would like to see the game outlast the present bottle flipping craze noting that the style of gameplay is enjoyable for the whole family.
The company is also working on several other fun projects that they are planning to unveil shortly. One of the most exciting upcoming releases will be the “IDO3D 3D Print Shop” which is due to debut in July of 2017.
