Workout at home

We are fortunate to live in a day and age where the internet is a tool for nearly everything. When it comes to fitness, YouTube is a wonderful, hassle-free means of working out. Some of the top YouTube pages for fitness include Fitness Blender, Popsugar Fitness, and Blogilates. If neither of those fit your fancy, you can simply search for the type of workout that you want to do on YouTube, and more likely than not, it will be there. If YouTube is not for you, try going to your local library. There are tons of workout DVDs available to check out.

Running

All you need are some tennis shoes and an open space, and you will be good to go. This workout is a fantastic way to get out and experience nature while getting your cardio in. Running is one of the fastest and most effective ways of getting in shape quickly. It can burn up to 600 calories an hour. If you cannot find a local park to go to, try going to a local high school. The track is usually open to the public during the Summer.

Jumping rope

Celebrities such as Katy Perry swear by this to get in shape during tours. The great thing about jumping rope is that you can do it virtually anywhere. This childhood pastimes burns major calories too. Try blasting some energetic music while you jump.

It will be like elementary P.E. all over again.

Kayaking

This workout is so fun, you won't even feel like you are working out. Invite friends for a fun outdoor day. You will have a great time, while almost effortlessly toning your arms and abs. Kayaking can burn up to 300 calories per hour.

Swimming

What's summer without going to the pool?

Swimming will help you to beat the heat, and also help you tone up. It's a win-win situation. Getting fit and in shape does not mean that you have to join a Gym. The key is to stay active in whatever way you can. Remember to embrace your body, no matter what shape it's in. Also, one of the keys to effective workouts is eating nutritiously too. Make sure that you eat a well-balanced meal, and consult a doctor before trying out something very vigorous.
