The Epcot International Festival of the Arts is a brand-new Walt Disney World event saluting the arts in all of their forms. That includes culinary creations, performing arts with singers straight from Broadway, and, of course, the visual arts. Disney is well known for its visually stunning cartoons, beginning with "Snow White" and running through today's mastery of CGI. Beginning on January 13th, guests in the park can get an up-close look at some amazing artistry, learn about drawing and painting, enjoy special tours, purchase artwork, and even try out their own talents.

Epcot festival starts January 13

The Epcot International Festival of the Arts starts on the 13th and runs Friday through Monday up until February 20. If you visit Walt Disney World during that time, head over to the park and check out art galleries, artwork and working demonstrations by popular Disney artists, traveling chalk artists, and hands-on experiences like an interactive wall mural where you can leave your own mark. Sign up for a seminar, go on a scavenger hunt with the park’s unofficial mascot, Figment, and stock up on festival merchandise. The event's special culinary offerings mean that you won't even have to leave for lunch or dinner because you'll want to try the chefs' art-inspired culinary creations.

Admire the art of Disney

Fans of Disney art are familiar with Joe Kaminski’s colorful work. He’s one of the featured artists you’ll be able to meet at the Epcot International Festival of the Arts. See some of his works in progress and hear him talk about the event in the video below, where he took some time out from painting with his children for a quick interview.

He's painted many characters, but he admits that Mickey Mouse is his favorite.

This event is included with your Epcot admission ticket, although some of the activities and seminars cost extra. Check out full details on the Walt Disney World website so you can plan out a full day immersed in the arts. The seminars and activities will fill up fast, so check out the website before your visit and book your choices as early as possible.
