Do you remember when you first started playing the video game “Fortnite: Battle Royale?” When some people begin to think about the first time they started to play this game they can usually remember how confused they were. For instance, as soon as you pop into the free and very competitive Battle Royale version of Fortnite without buying its cooperative counterpart you will find that not a lot is explained to you.

This game has no tutorial so it is up to the gamers themselves to try and find out how to play the game which means it is very much trial and error.

That is why I have created a Short List of three things that gamers wished they knew before playing this online multiplayer video game.

When collecting resources, don’t ignore the blue icon

The first thing that many players found out when they started playing "Fortnite: Battle Royale” was that aiming actually matters when it comes to collecting resources.

You’ll notice when you start swinging your hammer at a tree, wall or even some rocks that a blue icon will appear. It is important that you as the player always aim at the blue icon as it will allow you to gather more resources. By gathering more resources you can, of course, build more things which makes "Fortnite: Battle Royale" more enjoyable.

How can I get a better aim of the enemy?

Another example of something that gamers wished they knew before starting "Fortnite: Battle Royale" would be that you are actually able to increase your accuracy when it comes to shooting. The way many players increase the accuracy of their weapon is by finding a nice safe spot, crouch and then keep still while aiming your weapon.

This will allow you to damage your enemies more, but it doesn’t mean when you are being shot at just to stay still. If your being shot at while crouching be sure to dodge the bullets but if you have a long distance advantage be sure to crouch and stay still while aiming so you have a better chance of eliminating the enemy in "Fortnite: Battle Royale."

How to avoid falling damage

The final tip that the majority of players wished they knew when they first started to play "Fortnite: Battle Royale" was the fact that you can save yourself from falling damage by building something.

You are probably aware that falling damage is quite serious when it comes to this game but instead of being afraid of going onto high buildings you can actually build when you are falling to avoid some health damage.

Now, if you are watching an enemy from a cliff and fall as long as you are close to the cliff you can build a floor, and it will prevent you from losing a significant amount of health. The bottom line is that there are many tips when it comes to this game but remember "Fortnite: Battle Royale" is always changing with updates as they just added a new city and a legendary consumable.
