It is that time of the month again, where Microsoft update their Xbox Live Games With Gold. “Trails Fusion” and “Red Faction: Armageddon” are the latest additions to the catalog offered by the service and join “Slim Rancher,” which is available until the end of the month. “Bayonetta” is no longer available to download.
"Slim Rancher" and the two new releases will be available to download until August 31st.
What is 'Trials Fusion'?
Released in 2014, “Trials Fusion” is an arcade style stunt game which allows players to take control of a motorcycle rider as they try to maneuver their way through a crash course filled with obstacles.
Although this could have easily been a straight forward game with no story, Redlynx set up an intrigue Sci-Fi setting as a narrative.
“Trials Fusion” takes place in the year 2042, in the aftermath of a world changing event. Apparently, a large object fell onto Earth and altered it forever. The rider controlled by the player, whose actual name is just Rider, also has a deep backstory. He is chosen one who can hear the voices of two mysterious AI, who provide guidance to help him throughout his mission. It is a plot that does not need to be there but is a fun diversion anyway.
The version added to Microsoft's Xbox Games with Gold is the current generation port released for the Xbox One.
'Red Faction: Armageddon' is backward compatible
Xbox 360's “Red Faction Armageddon” is now available to be played by owners of current or previous generation. Released in 2011, the follow up to “Red Faction: Guerilla” received mixed reviews but earned praise for its fun and destructive gameplay. The story might have been criticized, but there is still a lot of fun to be had with Volition's title.
A third person shooter, "Armageddon" takes place half a century after the events of the previous installment and is set on Mars. The plot's central conflict features aliens, terraforming and the release of a plague. To be honest, the story is far from its strong point but serves as a device to allow players to cause some havoc and destruction.
'Bayonetta' leaves Games with Gold
“Red Faction” replaces Platinum Games' “Bayonetta,” which was available to download until August 15. The highly regarded hack and slash game is considered one of the best, if not the best, of the genre and saw a sequel released exclusively to the WII U. “Bayonetta” is also backward compatible and can be played on both the Xbox One and 360.
