Killer Instinct is one of Microsoft’s bigger titles exclusive only to Windows Store, but not for long. The new guys at Iron Galaxy and Alex Jebailey have announced that sometime later in 2017, players will be using their Ultra Combos on Steam.

Announcement

During the Community Effort Orlando tournament finals last weekend, Alex Jebailey, founder and CEO of CEO Gaming, has announced and confirmed that this action-packed brawler is joining Halo Wars and Quantum Break on Steam. This is more than good news especially for players who dread going over to Windows Store.

This news has been seconded when Killer Instinct’s official Twitter page broke the news: “That’s right, KI is coming to Steam later this year! Thanks to @CEOJebailey for helping us break the news. More details to follow.”

Game details

It seems nobody has anticipated this jump this early, although a number of players were surprised when Microsoft announced that the action-packed brawler is heading to Windows 10 PC. Iron Galaxy has not officially released any statement regarding the big jump. But this is pretty much understandable since it is only natural for the studio to go where there is a bigger pool of players.

Full details for Killer Instinct other than the confirmation that it’s heading to Valve's digital distribution service have not been announced officially by either Microsoft or Iron Galaxy. However, surely enough, information will be forthcoming such as whether or not there will be cross-platform play or will there be incentives for existing owners of the game who will make the jump.

Also, it would be great to know if PC or Xbox One purchases will be carried over to Valve’s doorsteps. If so, then that would encourage players to make the leap, not just for Killer Instinct but also for other big Microsoft titles that are already available on Steam.

Release date and pricing

As mentioned earlier, other than the confirmation, the release date has not been unveiled, putting other players on edge.

Not only that, how much the game will cost on Steam is also something to look forward to. Plus, whether the game’s DLC will be included is something to watch out for, although it would be ridiculous to release a game on another platform and leave out its DLC.

In other Killer Instinct news, sometime this summer, players will soon finally feast on the brawler's DLC, which is inclusive of the much-anticipated debut of the Eagle, Chief Thunder's brother.

Hopefully, support for action-packed brawler on Steam will not be dropped, since Iron Galaxy has made a tremendous work on the title since Double Helix Games moved over to Amazon Game Studios. Killer Instinct is available now for Xbox One and Windows 10.
