The entertainment industry is brutal on actors and expects them to all be super-human. Looking old, out of shape or just plain fat actors can forget getting chosen for any good roles.
Hollywood entertainers who chose to become Vegan do so because they want to take care of their body. Today, with the many studies that have been done, and the evidence to prove these studies, is there any question why so many A-listers are vegans?
By now, we all know that a plant-based diet reduces the risk of cancer and a variety of other illnesses, as well as actually prolonging one’s lifespan.
Let's check out some of the Hollywood superstars who have decided to live a Vegan lifestyle.
Pamela Anderson
The Baywatch star, Pamela Anderson, who is also a well-known and long-time defender of animal rights, is set to open a pop-up Vegan restaurant in the south of France this summer. Her hope is to help out her friend, Jullian Assange, who has been living in London housed at the Ecuadorian Embassy.
Celebrating her 50th birthday this month, Anderson will collaborate with French chef Christophe Leroy, on La Table du Marché (The Market Table). The restaurant will be open for fifty nights only and is part of Leroy's country inn called Les Moulins de Ramatuelle.
Brad Pitt
The famous ex-husband of Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt has been living a vegan lifestyle for many years.
His reasons for eating a plant-based diet goes beyond the health benefits. Pitt understands the negative environmental effects of raising livestock and the danger factory farms have on the world.
Angelina Jolie and their six children are not vegans.
Natalie Portman
After reading a book by Jonathan Safran Foer called Eating Animals, Portman became a vegan in 2009.
The famous 30-year-old actress does not wear or use anything made from animals, either. Although it went out of business, Portman started her own brand of Vegan footwear.
Alec Baldwin
Alec Baldwin grew up on a farm with cows and other livestock but said the animals were his pets. Prior to becoming a Vegan, Baldwin was a long-time vegetarian.
It was in 2009 when Baldwin was diagnosed with prediabetes that he choose to go full-on Vegan.
Alarmed by his diagnosis, Baldwin wanted to try and reverse the effects of his condition before it was too late. The Vegan diet has been a success in containing his prediabetes.
While some A-listers have adopted a plant based diet as a trendy fashion statement, there are other actors who have been vegans before they became famous!
