Detroit Lions RB Adrian Peterson (21.3% ESPN Ownership)
After being dropped by Washington, Peterson was immediately picked up by the Lions. Peterson was used heavily on Sunday, carrying the ball 14 times for 93 yards, and adding 3 catches for 21 yards. He scored 11.4 fantasy points on those touches, good for 20th among running backs in standard leagues for week 1. He'll continue to have a role in the Lions offense, moving forward, and is a worthy addition.

Los Angeles Rams RB Malcolm Brown (7.9% ESPN Ownership)
Most fantasy owners expected Cam Akers to step into the starting running back job, but Brown was far more effective in week 1. He turned 18 carries into 79 yards and two touchdowns and finished the fantasy week with the fourth-most points among all running backs. Brown should be added in all leagues after his week 1 performance, especially considering his role within a run-heavy offense.
Short-yardage running isn’t a given for RBs. Malcolm Brown is goooood at it. #RamsHouse pic.twitter.com/Y05JsQuZvC

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Benny Snell Jr. (14.6% ESPN Ownership)
Even before James Conner was hurt with an ankle injury, Snell looked like the far better running back on Monday night. Snell's bruising style allowed him to rack up 113 yards on 19 carries, ending the day with 11.3 fantasy points. Even if Conner does come back soon, Snell just earned himself at least more playing time in the Steelers offense.

Los Angeles Chargers RB Joshua Kelley (11.3% ESPN Ownership)
With Tyrod Taylor at quarterback, the Chargers are clearly committed to running the football. Austin Ekeler and Kelley both received double-digit carries in week 1, but it was Kelley who scored the touchdown. Kelley averaged 5 yards on 12 carries and scored a touchdown in week 1 and will likely be in line for increased touches as the season progresses. Even if Ekeler remains healthy, Kelley should retain some fantasy value.

New York Jets RB La'Mical Perine (0.0% ESPN Ownership)
With Le'Veon Bell out for at least several weeks, the New York Jets will need to turn to someone at the running back position. Gore is now 37 years old and in no position to carry a majority of the workload against any team in the NFL. That should mean increased touches for Perine, who will have some fantasy value for the few weeks that Bell is out.
Jets placed RB Josh Adams and WR Josh Malone back on to the practice squad, per the transaction wire. New rules permit teams to do that twice without having to clear waivers. Adams will be needed vs 49ers with Le’Veon Bell likely out with hamstring injury.

Atlanta Falcons WR Russell Gage (4.0% ESPN Ownership)
It's hard to believe that there could be three wide receivers in the same fantasy offense with value, but that's exactly what has happened with the Atlanta Falcons. Gage was targeted a whopping 12 times on Sunday and managed to catch 9 passes for 114 yards. As a third option of Matt Ryan, Gage has value, but if Calvin Ridley or Julio Jones ever got hurt, Gage would immediately become a top 20 wide receiver.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Scotty Miller (5.2% ESPN Ownership)
Scotty Miller has become Tom Brady's new Julian Edelman in Tampa Bay. The pair had great chemistry in training camp and it was shown off in the very first week of the year. Miller caught 5 passes for 73 yards and immediately became a fantasy player worth monitoring, especially in PPR formats. He's worth a stash for the next few weeks.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE O.J. Howard (4.9% ESPN Ownership)
When the season started, fantasy owners expected Rob Gronkowski to be pulling in passes from Tom Brady again. Instead, O.J. Howard was the main beneficiary as he caught 4 passes for 36 yards and a touchdown in week 1. While Gronk appears to be in the game for blocking, Howard is the main receiving threat and has value as the fantasy tight end for teams this season.

Philadelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert (27.2% ESPN Ownership)
It's hard to believe that two tight ends on the same team can have fantasy value, but both Ertz and Goedert play a big role in the Eagles attack. Goedert outplayed Ertz in week 1, catching 8 passes for 101 receiving yards and a touchdown. While that isn't likely to happen again, it's clear that Goedert can be added from the waiver wire, especially at a position with such thin depth.

Washington Football Team D/ST (1.7% ESPN Ownership)
Washington's defense was all over the field on Sunday, sacking Carson Wentz a ridiculous 8 times. The defense also had 2 interceptions and 1 fumble recovery en route to an impressive 17 point fantasy day. Now Washington will take on Kyler Murray, who could struggle with the dominant defensive line in week 2. Washington is a solid streaming option for the second week of the season.
