As we do each week, let’s take a look at the Week 8 fantasy stars who were likely unowned.

In order to be eligible for inclusion, the player must have been owned in less than 25 percent of ESPN fantasy football leagues. Every week, one quarterback, two running backs, two wide receivers, and one tight end will be highlighted.

1

Quarterback - Derek Carr, Raiders (285 passing yards, 3 passing touchdowns)

Carr is beginning to prove himself to at least be a quality fill-in quarterback for bye weeks as Sunday marked the fourth time in the last five games in which he passed for multiple touchdowns. Week 8 was his first three-touchdown performance since Week 13 of last year.

2

Running back - Raheem Mostert, 49ers (60 rushing yards, 1 rushing touchdown)

Mostert didn’t see the field til late in the 49ers’ blowout victory over the Panthers, but he was extremely efficient. He played just 14 snaps but received a carry in nine of them which included a 41-yard touchdown run. According to CBS Sports, Matt Breida suffered an ankle injury on Sunday which could allow Mostert to rejoin the running back rotation if Breida were forced to miss time.
