With another week of NFL action in the books, it’s time to once again look at some players who performed well in fantasy but were not owned by many.

Every week, one quarterback, two running backs, two wide receivers, and one tight end will be included on the weekly list. In order for them to be eligible, they must have been owned in less than 25 percent of ESPN fantasy football leagues.

Without further ado, here are Week 3’s fantasy football stars who were likely unowned.

1

Quarterback - Daniel Jones, Giants (336 passing yards, 2 passing touchdowns, 28 rushing yards, 2 rushing touchdowns, 2 fumbles lost)

What an incredible first career start it was for the sixth overall pick. According to ESPN, his 34.2 fantasy points in Week 3 are the second-most ever by a quarterback in his first start behind only Eric Hipple’s 42.7 in 1981.

2

Running back - Tony Pollard, Cowboys (103 rushing yards, 1 rushing touchdown, 3 receptions, 25 receiving yards)

Pollard got to see more action late as the Cowboys began pulling away from the Dolphins. He had eight of his 13 rushing attempts in the fourth quarter including a 16-yard scamper to the end zone.

3

Running back - Rex Burkhead, Patriots (47 rushing yards, 1 rushing touchdown, 6 receptions, 22 receiving yards)

With Sony Michel struggling, Burkhead has begun to see more time. After 13 carries and seven receptions in Weeks 1-2, he had 11 and six respectively this Sunday.

4

Wide receiver - Taylor Gabriel, Bears (6 receptions, 75 receiving yards, 3 receiving touchdowns)

Nonexistent would be an excellent word to describe Gabriel as he only caught three balls in Chicago’s first two games. Incredibly in Week 3, Mitchell Trubisky connected with him on three touchdown throws which all came in the second quarter.

5

Wide receiver - Paul Richardson, Redskins (8 receptions, 83 receiving yards, 1 receiving touchdown)

While Richardson wasn’t targeted much in the first two games, he has now scored in two straight contests after compiling just two touchdowns in his first eight career games with the Redskins (missed nine games in 2018).

6

Tight end - Jordan Akins, Texans (3 receptions, 73 receiving yards, 2 receiving touchdowns)

In 19 career games entering Week 3, Akins had never reached the end zone for a score. A 53-yard catch-and-run for a touchdown in the fourth quarter was the pivotal play to help the Texans secure a victory over the Chargers.
