After looking at the best recent draft picks for 26 teams, it's now time to look at the Rams who have the 31st pick in this month's draft. Chris Trapasso of CBS Sports has them selecting center Elgton Jenkins out of Mississippi State with that pick.
The Rams did not reach the playoffs for over a decade spanning the 2005-2016 seasons, but they have reached the postseason each of the last two years (reached the Super Bowl last season). It's no surprise that four players on this list were on that NFC Championship team from last season.
Note: Only time with the Rams is considered for this list. Where they were drafted makes a difference - meaning this isn't exactly a "top-ten players drafted by the Rams since 2000" list. Some late-round draft picks that didn't quite make the list but had solid careers with the team include Brian Young (fifth round, 2000), Jerametrius Butler (fifth round, 2001), and Tyler Higbee (fourth round, 2016).
Aaron Donald, DT - 1st round, 13th overall (2014); time with Rams: 2014-present
Named Defensive Player of the Year each of the last two seasons, Donald led the NFL with 20.5 sacks and 25 tackles for loss last year. Through five years, he has already tallied 59.5 sacks and 13 forced fumbles. According to Rams Wire of USA Today, he is likely to sit out the preseason but will take part in training camp.
Todd Gurley, RB - 1st round, 10th overall (2015); time with Rams: 2015-present
Gurley, the 2017 Offensive Player of the Year, has already scored 56 touchdowns (rushing and receiving) in four years. He has rushed for 4,547 yards while adding an additional 1,883 yards receiving.
