After looking at the best recent draft picks for 25 teams, it’s now time to look at the Chiefs who have the 29th pick in this month’s draft. Charles Davis of NFL.com has them selecting cornerback Greedy Williams out of LSU with that pick.

The Chiefs have reached the postseason eight times since 2000 including each of the last four seasons. Not surprisingly, many on this list were a part of those more recent teams.

Note: Only time with the Chiefs is considered for this list. Where they were drafted makes a difference - meaning this isn’t exactly a top-ten players drafted by Kansas City since 2000 list. Some late-round draft picks that didn’t quite make the list but had solid careers with the team include Dante Hall (fifth round, 2000), Scott Fujita (fifth round, 2002), Jordan Black (fifth round, 2003), Jarrad Page (seventh round, 2006), Brandon Carr (fifth round, 2008), Zach Fulton (sixth round, 2014), and Laurent Duvernay-Tardif (sixth round, 2014).

1

Tamba Hali, LB - 1st round, 20th overall (2006); time with Chiefs: 2006-2017

Named to five straight Pro Bowls from 2011-2015, Hali recorded 89.5 sacks for the Chiefs. A hard-hitter, he also forced 33 fumbles in his career.

2

Derrick Johnson, LB - 1st round, 15th overall (2005); time with Chiefs: 2005-2017

Not including punters and kickers, Johnson's 182 games played for Kansas City is tied for the fourth-most in franchise history. He finished with over 100 tackles five times, sacked the quarterback 27.5 times, and made four Pro Bowls.

3

Travis Kelce, TE - 3rd round, 63rd overall (2013); time with Chiefs: 2013-present

Named to each of the last four Pro Bowls (also a First Team All-Pro in 2016 and 2018), Kelce has arguably been the league's most productive tight end over the last five seasons. Since 2014, he has caught 410 passes for 5,236 yards and 32 touchdowns.

4

Justin Houston, LB - 3rd round, 70th overall (2011); time with Chiefs: 2011-2018

An extraordinary 2014 season saw Houston finish with 22 sacks, tied for the second-most in league history. He made four straight Pro Bowls from 2012-2015 and had 78.5 sacks for Kansas City.

5

Jamaal Charles, RB - 3rd round, 73rd overall (2008); time with Chiefs: 2008-2016

Charles had five seasons with over 1,000 yards rushing with the Chiefs. During his nine years with the team, he averaged an incredible 5.5 yards per carry.

6

Patrick Mahomes, QB - 1st round, 10th overall (2017); time with Chiefs:2017-present

Check back in a couple years, and the reigning MVP Mahomes easily could be atop this list. After playing just one game in his rookie year of 2017, last season he threw for 5,097 yards and 50 touchdowns. Chiefs.com mentions how he was recently on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

7

Tyreek Hill, WR - 5th round, 165th overall (2016); time with Chiefs: 2016-present

In the past two seasons, Hill has caught 162 passes for 2,662 yards and 19 touchdowns. He also has returned one kickoff and four punts for scores in his career.

8

Eric Berry, S - 1st round, 5th overall (2010); time with Chiefs: 2010-2018

Berry unfortunately had trouble staying on the field but every season he mainly stayed healthy, he was named to the Pro Bowl. He intercepted 14 passes for the Chiefs, five of which were returned for scores.

9

Jared Allen, DE - 4th round, 126th overall (2004); time with Chiefs: 2004-2007

While Allen is remembered by most for his time with the Vikings, he did spend his first four years with Kansas City. In that time, he had 43 sacks including a league-leading 15.5 in 2007.

10

Dontari Poe, DT - 1st round, 11th overall (2012); time with Chiefs: 2012-2016

Poe made back-to-back Pro Bowls in 2013 and 2014 as he established himself as one of the best interior run-stuffers. He also had 13 sacks with the Chiefs.
