After looking at the best recent draft picks for 25 teams, it’s now time to look at the Chiefs who have the 29th pick in this month’s draft. Charles Davis of NFL.com has them selecting cornerback Greedy Williams out of LSU with that pick.

The Chiefs have reached the postseason eight times since 2000 including each of the last four seasons. Not surprisingly, many on this list were a part of those more recent teams.

Note: Only time with the Chiefs is considered for this list. Where they were drafted makes a difference - meaning this isn’t exactly a top-ten players drafted by Kansas City since 2000 list. Some late-round draft picks that didn’t quite make the list but had solid careers with the team include Dante Hall (fifth round, 2000), Scott Fujita (fifth round, 2002), Jordan Black (fifth round, 2003), Jarrad Page (seventh round, 2006), Brandon Carr (fifth round, 2008), Zach Fulton (sixth round, 2014), and Laurent Duvernay-Tardif (sixth round, 2014).

1

Tamba Hali, LB - 1st round, 20th overall (2006); time with Chiefs: 2006-2017

Named to five straight Pro Bowls from 2011-2015, Hali recorded 89.5 sacks for the Chiefs. A hard-hitter, he also forced 33 fumbles in his career.

2

Derrick Johnson, LB - 1st round, 15th overall (2005); time with Chiefs: 2005-2017

Not including punters and kickers, Johnson's 182 games played for Kansas City is tied for the fourth-most in franchise history. He finished with over 100 tackles five times, sacked the quarterback 27.5 times, and made four Pro Bowls.
