Three quarterbacks were selected in the first round of this year's draft on Thursday. While some fans may be disappointed that their team did not select a quarterback, not all hope is lost. There have been a number of instances where a late-round pick has made quite an impact in the league at the quarterback position and became a long-time starter.

Here are the ten best quarterbacks that were drafted in the fourth round or later since 1990. As a subjective list, there is room for debate as to who should be placed where. Some quarterbacks who just missed out on earning a spot on the list include Jeff Blake (sixth round, 1992), Gus Frerotte (seventh round, 1994), Kyle Orton (fourth round, 2005), Ryan Fitzpatrick (seventh round, 2005), and Tyrod Taylor (sixth round, 2011). This list also doesn't include quarterbacks who went undrafted (undrafted quarterbacks are talked about more in length in an article written by Football Outsiders) but still had successful careers such as Kurt Warner, Jeff Garcia, Jake Delhomme, Jon Kitna, and Tony Romo.

1

Tom Brady - 6th round, 199th overall by the Patriots (2000)

Fourteen-time Pro Bowler. Three-time league MVP. Six-time Super Bowl winner and four-time Super Bowl MVP. Brady is arguably the best to ever play quarterback as he is getting ready for his 20th season with the Patriots. Yahoo Sports recently took a look at the six quarterback selected before Brady in 2000.

2

Trent Green - 8th round, 222nd overall by the Chargers (1993)

Green started every game for the Chiefs for five straight seasons from 2001-2005. In the last three of those years, he threw for over 4,000 yards. He compiled 28,475 passing yards and 162 passing touchdowns in his career.

3

Matt Hasselbeck - 6th round, 187th overall by the Packers (1998)

Owning an 85-75 record as a starting quarterback, Hasselbeck helped guide the Seahawks to a Super Bowl appearance in the 2005 season. Eight times in his career, he threw for over 3,000 yards.

4

Mark Brunell - 5th round, 118th overall by the Packers (1993)

Brunell was named to three Pro Bowls, and he led the NFL with 4,367 passing yards in 1996. He threw for 32,072 yards and 184 touchdowns during his pro career.

5

Dak Prescott - 4th round, 135th overall by the Cowboys (2016)

In three years, Prescott has started every game for the Cowboys and owns a 32-16 record. He has thrown 67 touchdowns, ran for another 18 scores, and was named the 2016 Offensive Rookie of the Year.

6

Brad Johnson - 9th round, 227th overall by the Vikings (1992)

While they were best known for their defense, Johnson was still a Super Bowl-winning quarterback for the Buccaneers in the 2002 season. He threw 166 touchdowns in his career and had a 72-53 mark as a starter.

7

Kirk Cousins - 4th round, 102nd overall by the Redskins (2012)

Cousins currently has a streak of four straight season with over 4,000 yards passing. During that time, he has completed 67.8 percent of his passes and thrown 111 touchdowns.

8

Aaron Brooks - 4th round, 131st overall by the Packers (1999)

Brooks started all 64 of the Saints' outings from 2001-2004. Those four seasons saw him average 3,690 yards passing and 24.5 passing touchdowns per year.

9

Marc Bulger - 6th round, 168th overall by the Saints (2000)

Bulger never played with the Saints but started 95 games with the Rams. The two-time Pro Bowler threw at least 21 touchdowns in three of four seasons from 2003-2006.

10

David Garrard - 4th round, 108th overall by the Jaguars (2002)

Mostly a spot starter to begin his career, Garrard started 68 games for the Jaguars in his last five seasons from 2006-2010. He was named to the Pro Bowl in 2009 and had a 6-to-1 touchdown to interception ratio (18 touchdowns, 3 interceptions) in 2007.
