North Carolina State

NC State ended up going 22-11 on the year, including 9-9 in the ACC, which many consider the toughest conference in the country. NC State recorded several high-quality wins.

2

Texas Longhorns

The Longhorns definitely have a beef with the selection committee after being snubbed. During the season, Texas secured wins over North Carolina and Purdue, as well as Kansas State, Oklahoma, and Kansas. Four of those teams ended up with good seeds. What kept Texas out of the tournament was their number of losses.

3

Texas Christian University

It was not a great year for the Big 12, as two of its teams failed to make the tournament. TCU ended the season 7-11 in conference play. The Horned Frogs struggled this season, being swept by Kansas.

4

Indiana Hoosiers

Indiana deserved to be in, thanks to its marquee victories against Marquette and Louisville, and also sweeping Michigan State and beating Wisconsin. What hurt Indiana was losing 12-of-13 games in two months.

5

UNC Greensboro

Despite having a 28-6 record, as well as a 15-3 record in conference, UNC Greensboro was kept out of the tournament. UNC Greensboro now is hoping for a run in the NIT.
