The Amazonian Royal Flycatcher

The Amazonian Royal Flycatcher is a medium-sized bird of the tyrant flycatcher family, with a unique ornate crest of different shades of red. Interestingly, the long fan-shaped crest gives the flycatcher a distinctive appearance when its head is raised. These small uncommon birds feed basically on insects and are widespread in North and South America of the Andes where there are humid and decisions lowland forests suitable for its inhabitation.

Fearsome Hoatzin

Hoatzin also known as Flying Cow, is a fearsome bird with a loose crest, red eyes, and bright blue facial skin. They are widespread in Central South America and primarily inhabit trees and shrubs along rivers and lakes. It has a multi-chambered stomach and basically feeds on yHoatzin, generally known as the flying cow is the only bird that feeds and survives by eating only leaves. One of its distinctive features is that it has claws on its wings. However, when it matures, it loses the claws.

Magnificent Frigatebird

The Magnificent Frigate-bird is an unusual seabird with a throat pouch which inflates to attract the opposite sex. One of the uniqueness of this bird is that it can steer effortlessly through tropical breezes and remain in the air for at least two months without landing. They are aqua-phobic because they do not have waterproof feathers which results in the inability to fly when wet. This sky pirate feeds by harassing and snatching food from other birds in the air.

Bizarre Kakapo

This bizarre bird species is one of the longest living bird on earth and can be found in New Zealand. It is both the world's heaviest and flightless parrot in existence. Although they become sexually mature at age nine to ten and breed every two to five years, they can live more than 90 years. When the bird feels endangered, it enters the ground and freezes. Some of their predators include humans who hunt them for their meat and feathers, domesticated, stats, and dogs.

Clumsy Dodo

This large flightless bird could only be found on the Island of Mauritius. However, the fat and clumsy bird is extinct today because the Dutch Sailors destroyed their habitat and feed on them. Little is known about its behavior. It feeds on fruits which could be digested with the help of buzzard stones. It is commonly depicted as a symbol of extinction and was featured in the story Alice's Adventure In Wonderland. Unlike other birds, the male dodo is larger and has a longer beak.
