Women's History Month is surely over, but that's not stopping us from honoring some women who have made waves in an industry that's dominated by men. The ladies over at Bold Missy Brewery in Charlotte, North Carolina are making history with their Craft Beer. The company is the first all woman-owned brewery in the United States and their brand is one that definitely stands out.

According to Now This Food, only 29 percent of brewery workers are women and only 4 percent of those women are actually head brewers, showing how long away there has to go before more women get into crafting beer.

But Bold Missy Brewery isn't just another company run by women. Head Brewer Carli Smith told Now This Food, "It's a really welcoming environment for everybody because we're not trying to be like this is a club for girls only, it's just celebrating women."

Women-inspired craft beer

Founder Carol Waggener "wanted all the beers to be inspired by bold missies who have inspired her and everybody else," tap room boss Lybbi Roth told Now This Food. Some of these women include the physicist, educator, astronaut Sally Ride, who was the first American woman to go to space. They've named an India pale ale called "Rocket Ride" after her. Golden ale "Git Yer Gun" is inspired by Annie Oakley, who's known for starring in "Buffalo Bill's Wild West" show.

A brown ale called "Solo Flight" is inspired by none other than Amelia Earheart, the first woman to fly alone across the Atlantic Ocean. A wheat ale called "Find a Way" is inspired by author, journalist and long-distance swimmer Diana Nyad, who was the first swimmer to swim from Cuba to Florida without a shark cage. Lastly, there's "Conquer the Route," a chocolate stout inspired by mountain climber, explorer, author and producer Alison Levine.

Lisa Frank-inspired beer

Bold Missy Brewery's creativity doesn't stop there, as the female-led brand is also known for their sparkling glitter beer that's inspired by none other than Lisa Frank! According to Hello Giggles, the glitter beer is called "Trapper Keeper" Saison and is infused with flavors of lemon and pink peppercorn.

After all, all of those trapper keeper-trotting kids back in the 90's are all old enough to chug down some glitter beer. Smith told Munchies of their Lisa Frank-inspired brew, "What better way to honor her legacy than with glitter?" Bold Missy Brewery is located along Anderson Street in Charlotte, North Carolina.
