marketing and sales company HubSpot made some big announcements this week. The marketing firm announced it has acquired Motion AI, a leading chatbot builder.
According to TechCrunch, the Cambridge-based marketing firm has acquired the bot creation platform for an undisclosed amount. HubSpot declined to offer any details about the financial terms of the transaction. The deal will bring tools to HubSpot’s customers that will help them automate important tasks, scale conversation and engage new customers. As part of the deal, the entire Motion AI team will be joining HubSpot and the Motion AI platform will be incorporated into the HubSpot’s platform.

Founded in 2015 and based in Naperville, Illinois, Motion AI is a software company that provides an editor for building chatbots that work well on various websites, SMS, Slack, and Facebook Messenger, no coding knowledge required. The Motion AI's platform has already been integrated into HubSpot Free CRM, so expect no issue on the integration side.
The company currently offers some templates for bots that can help companies do things like surveys and FAQ. But HubSpot is reportedly keen in improving handoff between a bot and a human in a conversation, TechCrunch reported.
Before its deal with HubSpot, Motion AI managed to raise $700,000 in seed funding. The company’s investors include Charge Ventures, Crush Ventures, Guy Gamzu, Hyde Park Angels, and Micha Kaufman.
