Jamie Dornan and Amelia Warner’s marriage has been surrounded with controversy when the Northern Irish actor starred in the “Fifty Shades” franchise movies with Dakota Johnson. Since then, different allegations have surrounded the “Fifty Shades Freed” stars with fans claiming that they have a secret affair. Recently, it seems that the actor’s wife is hit by a marriage controversy not just with her husband but also with another actor that she allegedly married long before she met her husband in 2010. Warner dated Irish actor Colin Farrell for a year and they reportedly got married in 2001.

However, the English actress firmly denied it and said that it was never legal.

Warner’s alleged marriage to Farrell wasn’t legal

The wife of Jamie Dornan was only 19 when she dated Farrell between 2000 and 2001 while the “Fright Night” actor was 24. Warner’s mother, Annette Warner even said that she’s glad that Millie (Amelia’s nickname) found someone who protects her and someone she can trust. Following her mother’s approval of her relationship with Farrell, the couple officially announced in 2001 that they were engaged. Her mom went on to say that although they’re too young to commit, she’s happy that her daughter doesn’t have to go through several relationships before finding her soul mate.

Long before Amelia Warner met Jamie Dornan, there were speculations that she married Colin Farrell in 2001 but it didn’t last, leading them to separate ways. The “S.W.A.T.” actor even admitted that they were "too fast and too young," describing his marriage experience with Warner. Farrell even has a tattoo of the English actress’ name on his ring finger but it’s unknown whether he has removed it following their split.

Warner denies marriage with Colin Farrell

Fans of Jamie Dornan and Amelia Warner are now wondering whether the latter is actually telling the truth about her alleged marriage to Farrell. She told The Sun in December 2011 that their marriage wasn’t legal at all although they did have a ceremony.

"We had a ceremony on a beach in Tahiti that was by no means legal and we knew it wasn't... It was just a thing we did on holiday," Warner explained. "We went shark feeding and then we did that. We booked them both on the activities desk at the hotel."
