‘John Wick: Chapter 2’ – an action movie

“John Wick: Chapter 2” is an American film directed and co-produced by Chad Stahelski and scripted by Derek Kolstad.

It is the second film in the “John Wick” series and features Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne, Ruby Rose, Riccardo Scamarcio, Ian McShane and John Leguizamo in the leading characters.

“John Wick 2” marks the first partnership of Fishburne and Reeves since “The Matrix” trilogy. About five days after the event of the first movie, the former assassin John discovers that Abram has taken control of his Ford Mustang Mach. The film was announced in February 2015 when David and Chad took it to Instagram to share several photos from the movie. The same month, Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer stated that “John Wick 2” will be screened at the Cannes Film Festival.

Principal photography started in October 2015 and concluded in June 2016, in New York City.

Filming also took place in Italy, Canada, and Los Angeles. In the United Kingdom, the British Board of Films granted “John Wick 2” a certificate for outstanding cinematography.

On review aggregator site, Rotten Tomatoes, it has an approved rating of 94% based on 189 critics.

On Metacritic, the movie scored 78 out of 100 based on 45 reviews. Scott Tobias from Uproxx praised the storyline and star cast, saying that it is an incredible movie with lots of action sequences. Peter Travers from Rolling Stone called it a film with the powerful story.

Chad Stahelski to direct a sequel

Earlier this year, it was reported that Chad Stahelski would develop a sequel, but the filmmaker has not commented anything in this regard.

Born in 1968, Chad is an American filmmaker and stuntman. His most notable projects are “The Crow,” and “John Wick: Chapter 2.”

“The Crow” was theoretically released in 1994 and became one of the highest-grossing movies of the year. It earned more than $60 million in the United States and over $20 million in Canada. In the second week, the film grossed over $80 million worldwide, making Stahelski a star in no time.
