Photogallery - There are now three rivers with the same rights as humans

The Whanganui River in New Zealand is sacred to the Maori people who are concerned for its health. The Yamuna River is sacred to Indians but is to the point where it can't support life in its waters, as children pay around in its trash filled waters. The Ganges River is the most sacred river in India and to Hindus. Here a women can be seen bathing in the river, as it is believed the bathing in the river forgives sin and facilitates Moksha.
