The HTC U11 hit the shelves recently and quickly went out of stock for some retailers. Its popularity was due to the premium specs as well as some unique features, like the edge sense functionality. With it users are able to slightly squeeze the edges of the phone to directly access apps and programs.
The HTC U11 was launched in the United States in three color options: black, blue, and silver. However, in many other markets, the handset was released in two additional color variants: white and red. Unfortunately, these color options are not available for customers in America, which disheartened some fans.
However, HTC has announced that it would introduce a new hue called Solar Red in the United States.
HTC U11 solar red variant
While the blue, black, and silver variants of the phone look rather cool and sleek, the red hue displays a color changing effect which other variants do not offer. This is primarily why fans desire the red variant more than the other three hues. The Solar Red HTC U11 --when held at certain angles -- goes from red to yellow. This color changing effect is obvious, and gives the device an innovative look.
Those looking to pick up the Solar Red version of the phone can do so by pre-ordering the handset through the company's own website. The pre-orders of the device started on June 19 and the release date of the phone has not been revealed yet.
The pricing and specs of the Solar Red variant are the same as the other models and will set customers back $649.
With the release of the Solar Red variant of the phone, HTC has only withheld the white colored device from the American market. It is not known whether the company plans to launch the white variant. For now, though, many fans are happy with the red variant that will be available.
