Jay Lethal was one of the most entertaining stars in Tna Impact Wrestling when he was there. However, the company had him rely on comedy, whether it was imitating Macho Man Randy Savage or "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair. Then, in what seemed to come out of nowhere, Impact Wrestling fired Jay Lethal. In a recent interview with The Post and Courier, Lethal talked about TNA firing him and why he has not signed with the WWE over his career.

Why TNA Impact Wrestling fired Jay Lethal

According to Jay Lethal, he was never given the real reason why TNA Impact Wrestling cut ties with him.

Lethal said that he got a phone call from the office one day and they just told him that they had to let him go. Jay said that he heard a number of different stories about why the company let him go. One of those stories was that Dixie Carter's parents had come in and cut the budget and he was one of the casualties of the budget cuts. Lethal said that, at the end of the day, Dixie Carter was in charge of who stayed and who left so it was her choice at the end of the day to fire him from the company. He said that no matter who came up with the idea to release him had to be signed off by Dixie Carter and that is all there is to it.

Why did Jay Lethal not go to the WWE?

When Jay Lethal left TNA Impact Wrestling, he had a lot of options.

Not only did Lethal choose to go to Ring Of Honor, but he chose to stay in Ring of Honor when other wrestlers left for the WWE. Lethal said that his dream as a newcomer in professional wrestling was to make it to the WWE. While Lethal said that he still would like to head to the WWE and wrestle there, it is not the end goal of his dreams as a wrestler.

Jay said that he would not be upset if he retired from professional wrestling and never competed in the WWE. Jay Lethal said the, even if his biggest success came in Ring of Honor, he would feel that his career was complete and that he made it, even without the WWE. Jay said that is an area where a lot of wrestlers struggle because they feel without the WWE they are a failure.

Jay Lethal and his biggest moment in wrestling

Jay Lethal has won some big titles and at one time he was both the Ring of Honor world and television champion. However, Lethal said that the highlight of his career came when he was in TNA Impact Wrestling. That moment came when he was allowed to cut his first promo in the company and it ended up being in the ring with "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair. He said that he remembers how nervous he was when he went out there and it was a huge turning point in his career.
