Southern Methodist looks to win their 11th straight game and to take control of the American Athletic Conference when it travels to Connecticut on Saturday afternoon. The Mustangs' most recently prevailed at Houston and have had a week off to prepare for this game. The Huskies also just recently saw the Cougars, but their result was a loss that ended a four-game winning streak. Smu has won three of the last four meetings against UConn. This game tips off at 12:00 PM Eastern time on Saturday, Feb. 25, and can be seen on CBS, CBSSports.com, and the CBS Sports app.

No. 17 SMU (24-4, 14-1 AAC)

The Mustangs have been incredible throughout conference play. They're tied with Cincinnati heading into Saturday's action and the only blemish on their record was a two-point loss at the Bearcats back on January 12th. Considering the opponent, UConn is always a task to knock off on the road. SMU's defense has held opponents to just 58.9 points on the season (3rd nationally).

Senior forward Ben Moore (11.6 ppg, 8.4 rpg) has been dominant as of late. He's recorded two double-doubles, the most recent being 18 points on 7-of-9 shooting and 13 rebounds against Houston. Junior forward Semi Ojeleye (18.3 ppg, 6.7 rpg) led the team with 22 points and nearly hit a double-double himself with 9 boards.

Connecticut (14-11, 9-6 AAC)

The Huskies have been turning it around with three close victories after blowing out South Florida, but things finally reverted back to the norm when they fell at Houston, 75-70. The Cougars prevailed despite hitting just 34.4 percent of their shots in the game. UConn turned the ball over 10 times and committed 23 personal fouls, which led to Houston converting 25-of-29 free throws.

Sophomore guard Jalen Adams (15 ppg, 6.6 apg) led the team with 18 points and also had a positive passing ratio of 5 assists to 2 turnovers in the loss. Freshman forward Vance Jackson (7.7 ppg, 3.9 rpg) recorded 16 points on 5-of-10 shooting, three of those field goal makes coming from 3-point range.

SMU is favored by 4.5 points and the O/U is set at 127.5 points. The Mustangs have a 17-5-1 record against the spread this season.
