Last night, we got the first photo of Netflix’s supernatural drama “Stranger Things.”

The show, which has been one of the strongest contenders this award season, is nominated for one PGA Award, two SAG Awards, two Golden Globe, three Critics’ Choice, and one WGA Award. In Season 2, Will returns to his homeland, and everything seems to be fine. Suddenly, the darkness lurks beneath the surface, threatening the heroes of the show. The new episodes of “Stranger Things” will premiere this Halloween, and we assume that dozens of posters and teaser trailers will be out.

An American horror series

“Stranger Things” is a horror web TV series created and written by the Duffer Brothers, with Dan Cohen and Shawn Levy serving as producers. The first season features Winona Ryder, Natalia Dyer, Caleb McLaughlin, David Harbour, Millie Bobby, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Matthew Modine, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, and Noah Schnapp. In its second season, Sadie Sink and Dacre Montgomery were new to the cast.

Set in the fictional village of Hawkins, the show focuses on a young boy who is captured by his brothers and several friends. The local police officer begins investigations and finds that a psychokinetic girl is threatening everyone in the town. This strange young lady helps in the search for the boy.

In the second season, the boy returns to his home and begins a normal life.

According to the producer, the series is a mix of paranormal elements and investigative drama. Duffer Brothers cite the works of Stephen King and John Carpenter as inspiration for storyline and cinematography. In June 2016, “Stranger Things” was officially released on the streaming giant Netflix, and received acclaim for its homage, characterization, soundtracks, and star performances.

An assemble cast of the show

The new season features an assemble cast, including Shannon Purser as Barbara, Ross Partridge as Lonnie, Chester Rushing as Tommy, Chris Sullivan as Benny, Tobias Jelinek as Brenner, Susan Larkin as Florence, Sean Astin as Bob, Paul Reiser as Owens, Linnea Berthelsen as Roman, and Brett Gelman as Murray.

Matt Duffer describes the second season as full of thrills and entertainment. A few days ago, he revealed the episode titles for the season such as "The Pollywog," "The Storm," "The Pumpkin Patch," "The Lost Brother," "The Secret Cabin," and "The Brain."

An impact of the show is the increasing demand for Eggo waffles as they can be seen in the first season. Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer are already famous for their works in “Hidden,” and “Wayward Pines.”
