Microsoft is busy getting ready for the release of its Xbox One X console, which is believed to be the most powerful gaming console ever created. Even though it is a bit on the pricier side, the company claims that the performance of the console far outweighs its increase in cost. The company is also launching a limited edition of the highly-awaited Xbox One X.

Project Scorpio Edition

Long before the Redmond-based company officially unveiled the Xbox One X at E3 this year, there had been speculation regarding what the name of the new console would be.

Most of the rumors held that Microsoft would be calling it Project Scorpio. However, this was not the case in reality. It seems, the company reserved that name for the Special Edition of its upcoming console, which means that the special variant will be called Project Scorpio Edition.

The $500 special edition will come in a specialized box of black with the text Project Scorpio Edition written on the front in a green shade. The console itself will also boast the same color of black and green. It will also come with a specialized limited-edition controller, marked with the Scorpio Edition tag as well. Apart from this, all other features in the Project Scorpio Edition will remain the same as that of the normal Xbox One X.

Newer bundles for Xbox One S

The slimmer version of the original Xbox One, the Xbox One S has become quite popular among fans. This is why Microsoft announced that it would be selling two new bundles of the console variant. The first bundle will contain the Xbox One S console and the yet-to-be-released, 'Middle Earth: Shadows of War.' The game will release in October, so the bundle should also be available at that time.

Apart from this, the company has also unveiled a new Minecraft themed Xbox One S console. The system along with the controllers in this bundle will sport a pixelated design similar to Minecraft's blocks and structures. This bundle is mainly aimed at Minecraft fanatics and will also be produced in limited quantities.

Other important revelations

The company revealed that games like Gears of War 4 and Halo 5 will receive 4K support soon so that they can run on this high resolution on the new Xbox One X console upon its release. Microsoft also claimed that around 100 existing games on the platform will soon receive a similar 4K update. It was also stated that if a user is simply upgrading from the Xbox One to the Xbox One X, they would be able to transfer all of their old games and saves to the newer system quite easily. Even the game settings should also be copied to the newer console.
