"National puppy day" is celebrated all over the world on 23rd March. It was founded in 2006 by Pet Lifestyle Expert, Animal Behaviorist, and Author, Colleen Paige, who is also the founder of National Dog Day and National Cat Day.

Nowadays, thousands of orphaned dogs roam the streets without any shelter and without food. This day is celebrated to bring awareness to people about the need for a home for the orphaned puppies and to educate people about how joyful they can be.

How to celebrate?

Puppy mills take advantage of the situation and house dogs in very bad conditions.

They pose as caring breeders whilst hiding a darker side. The dogs are put into cages and some dogs spend their entire life in a single cage or even die due to negligence and lack of care. Due to such ignorance, many dogs die in these mills because of diseases.

On this day let’s bring home a puppy so that it can get a safe shelter. Visit a local pet shelter and adopt a puppy. Contribution for puppies can also be made by giving your time and money for some local pet shelter.

Treating with love and care

If you already have a puppy in your home, then you can give it a royal treatment by giving it a warm scented bath and a massage. Taking puppy to a party where all friends can also come with their puppies will be a perfect idea.

Buying some accessories like ribbons and shirts will add more joy and make your puppy look perfect on this day. Also, you can get some enjoyable pictures taken with your little animal and hang those memories on the walls of your house which will add new content to the surroundings.

On this day, treat small joyful creature with all love and patience like a small child.

Pamper it with unconditional love while playing with it which will create a strong bond. Have a walk outside so that it can see other puppies which will help it to socialize. These days, even puppy classes are in great demand.

This national puppy day, step out and find a puppy and adopt it. You will find a loving friend and a joyful creature which will fill you with a new positive energy.
