An alleged Samsung tablet with model-number, “SM-T385C” was recently spotted on the official TENAA website, according to a report by GSMArena. The device is believed to be Galaxy Tab A2 S, tipped prolific leakster, Roland Quandt. The company is going to pack the product with all modern-day features including the Bixby voice assistant and 4G support. It will also be available in the U.S. but the launch date is not confirmed.

A tablet device for children

According to a report by The Mobile Indian, the device will specifically be targeted towards children.

It will come equipped with a special “Kid Mode” that will enhance the child’s learning experience too. The publication believes that the experience is inspired by Samsung’s own app that goes by the same name. Parents will be provided with complete control over what the kids can access on the tablet. Setting restrictions on inappropriate content will be made easier for the parents. Last week, the South Korean original equipment manufacturer (OEM) confirmed that the tablet will feature Bixby. The integrating of an automatic voice assistant certainly makes it easy for kids to surf the web through nothing but commands. Samsung introduced Bixby with the launch of Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus in February this year.

The software has also been made available on the recently-launched Galaxy Note 8.

Here is the detail regarding specs

According to a report by GSMArena, the tablet is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 427 chipset with four 64-bit ARM Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.4GHz. This will further be accompanied by Adreno 308 GPU for graphics.

On the basis of this, it is safe to assume that the tablet is entry-level and will cost less than expected. In the storage department, the tablet is speculated to offer 2GB of RAM along with 16GB of in-built storage. Users will also be provided with the option of expanding the memory via the microSD card slot option if they’d like.

The tablet is expected to offer an 8-megapixel rear module along with a 5-megapixel front shooter. The device will run on Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box and house a decent battery power too. Samsung is believed to introduce two variants of its Galaxy Tab A2 S – while one will be targeted towards kids, the other one will be standard for adult use. There is no confirmation on whether this will be made available in the international markets. Additional information on the matter will be reported as it becomes available.
