James Vince all set to replace Jason Roy

Jason Roy is injured with a hamstring tear and will be out of this clash.

James Vince is expected to open the innings in the absence of Roy with Jonny Bairstow. Eoin Morgan also has some issues, and it is to be seen whether he takes the field or not. If the captain misses out, Jos Butler will lead the English team. Other than this, there is uncertainty over Liam Plunkett's fitness. Moeen Ali could come into the side as the pitch is suited for spinners. It will be interesting to see what kind of lineup does England put out to play.

Mujeeb in reckon as Afghanistan arrive in Manchester with high hopes

Najibullah Zadran was left out against the Proteas, and it is unclear what could have been the reason. Asghar Afghan who played in his place made a duck so that he could make way for Zadran. Other than this, Mujeeb Ur Rehman could return to the XI after missing out from the last few matches. The fact that Manchester wicket has something for the spinners will excite Afghanistan.

The pitch which was used in the match between India and Pakistan will be used for this encounter between Afghanistan and England. The pitch is suitable for batting, but there is something for the spinners and middle pacer on it as well.

The weather forecast predicts some rain during the afternoon, but it had also predicted a washout of Ind vs. Pak match, where eventually 90 overs were played.
