The NBA season has been underway, with critics and fans seeing where their teams are, respectively, and what they could be later in the year. One of the biggest stories in the NBA was the fight between players from the Los Angeles Lakers and the Houston Rockets. It took place on Saturday night (October 20). LeBron James made his thoughts known about the incident and on the loss.
Rajon Rondo criticizes Chris Paul
According to an article by Bleacher Report, Rajon Rondo believes that Chris Paul is a "horrible teammate." Due to Rondo throwing punches at Paul, and escalating the situation, the league has suspended him for three games. Some believe that he spit on Paul, which caused the escalation and fight to start. The guard also denies that he spit on Chris Paul, despite some evidence in a replay. Rondo explained what he believed really happened to ESPN: "I had a mouthpiece in my mouth and I was exasperated because I was about to tell him to 'get the (expletive) out of here' Look at my body language (in the video)."
Rajon Rondo was not done taking shots at the star guard, as he says that Chris Paul's suspension is only two games because of his stardom in the league.
He also claims it is due to Paul's "good guy" image. Rondo also claims that Paul starts drama and used trying to get into the Los Angeles Clippers' locker room as an example. This happened just last season. Chris Paul, who knows a lot about the Clippers facility, tried to get into the locker room after a heated game.
According to an article by 247sports, Rondo does not believe that he did anything wrong or that he started the fight. He responded that his teammates "know who I am," and that everything will be fine with the team moving forward. With Rajon Rondo serving his suspension, Lonzo Ball will certainly be inserted into the starting lineup.
Lakers already off to a bad start
The Los Angeles Lakers have aspirations of a championship, and that is fair when you have LeBron James as a teammate, although the Lakers have already started off the season 0-3.
The team is far from done, but they will have to bounce back or fall low in the ranks in the tough Western Conference, which is notably more formidable than the Eastern Conference.
One of the biggest stories, or possible drama associated with the Los Angeles Lakers, was the cast of characters around LeBron. Brandon Ingram and Rajon Rondo getting suspended, and losing money, already shows a problem surfacing. Brandon Ingram got mad about a James Harden drive to the basket, shoved him, and then walked away after speaking maliciously to a referee. He would later go on to throw punches.
