It has now been officially announced that international basketball phenomenon Luka Doncic has declared for the 2018 NBA Draft. With that announcement has come speculation in terms of his NBA mock draft position. There are some pundits, analysts, and fans who are of the belief that Doncic's talents have him deserving of the number one pick overall. However, that could all depend on which team ends up with that top NBA Draft pick. Here's the latest NBA mock draft 2018 speculation.

Doncic has great upside

It almost seems as if every year there is a new international star ready to make their presence felt in the United States' professional basketball league.

In the past, these players have included such players as Dirk Nowitzki and Kristaps Porzingis. Luka Doncic is the latest name added to that pool of talent from overseas. He'll join an exciting NBA Draft class for 2018 that includes Marvin Bagley III from Duke, Missouri star Michael Porter Jr. and Arizona's DeAndre Ayton.

At 6-foot-8 and 225 pounds, the Real Madrid player is considered a shooting guard or small forward. At just 19-years-old, he'll offer whichever team gets him plenty of strengths. His game is already considered "mature" and polished at a young age. He also has great ability to create his own shot in many situations as well as quick hands and great instincts in the passing lanes.

However, Luka Doncic also has his weaknesses as well. These include a lack of quickness which can hurt him during defensive situations as well as a shot consistency which is said to be lacking at times. Even so, the Slovenian superstar is being touted as one of the best international prospects headed to the NBA in several years.

Potential spot & teams

At the NBADraft.net website, Doncic isn't listed as first overall. Instead, the site has him at the number four spot in their latest NBA mock draft. It's speculated that he'll end up playing for the Atlanta Hawks, which seems like a great fit as they're clearly a team in need of more star power. Their latest rookie, John Collins out of Wake Forrest, has shown he can be a great forward in the future, but the dynamic talents of Doncic would provide a great scoring and playmaking threat to complement him.

The Land of 10's Wayne Staats contends that Doncic is a bit higher in the draft order. He believes that the Memphis Grizzlies, a team that was once considered a tough out in the Western Conference, will take their chances on the Slovenian with the number two pick. Memphis may be headed towards a rebuilding phase soon as things just don't seem to be working out with their stars Mike Conley and Marc Gasol. At the very least, Doncic would fit in well with those two while he improves his game.

A report from SB Nation back on April 12 suggests that Luka Doncic is the Number one pick for the upcoming NBA Draft 2018. They call him "the real deal" and worthy of the first overall pick, meaning he would join a Phoenix Suns team full of young rising stars out West.

It's said that Doncic could be the true star that Phoenix needs as he has "few holes" in his basketball game. Phoenix wasn't afraid to draft a guy named Dragan Bender several drafts ago, another foreign prospect, so taking Doncic may be a no-brainer.

With that said, there's still two months until the 2018 NBA Draft officially happens, giving plenty more time for all of the sports analysts and fans to speculate on where Luka Doncic will be drafted.
