The Miami Heat have struggled out of the gate this season, to say the least. They have opened up with an abysmal 9-19 record in the NBA Eastern Conference which is good for 13th place. For a team that has made the playoffs every year since 2008, this is a huge disappointment.

Hassan Whiteside to be traded?

Miami Heat starting center Hassan Whiteside signed a massive four year $98 million dollar max contract this past summer, which also signaled the end of the Dywane Wade era. Wade left for his hometown Chicago Bulls when the Heat didn't offer him enough money. That decision may be coming back to haunt the team after this disastrous start.

Some NBA executives speculate that team president Pat Riley will more than likely be making some changes before the trade deadline to get his team back to its winning ways. The most likely candidate to go is franchise player Hassan Whiteside. Instead of building around him, the team may opt to start completely over and go in another direction.

Whiteside would have no shortage of suitors on the trade market because of the skill set he brings to the table. He's a rim-protecting big that can also shoot the mid range jumper when needed. He's one of the only players in the NBA that can get a triple double with points, rebounds, and blocks. Anthony Davis has the ability and potential to also achieve this feat.

This shows you what kind of company Whiteside is in and why he is considered to be so valuable. Most NBA teams would be chomping at the bit to get their hands on a special talent like Whiteside. The Golden State Warriors appear to be one of those teams.

Heat and Warriors potential blockbuster deal

Even though the Golden State Warriors have started off the season with an NBA best 24-4 record, there are some rumblings that they may be looking to make a few changes ahead of the trade deadline.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has denied all rumors that the team is looking to deal star shooting guard Klay Thompson but some believe thats just a smoke screen. Thompson was pretty vocal over the summer when the Warriors signed Kevin Durant that he wasn't sacrificing anything as far as his game goes.

It seems as of right now that he may be the odd man out.

Golden State desperately needs an interior presence if they want to continue competing for NBA championships and Hassan Whiteside could fill that void better than any other player in the league. He would be a huge upgrade over Zaza Pachulia and make the Warriors a team that would be feared even more. A potential trade would send Klay Thompson to South Beach in exchange for the services of Whiteside. Thompson would get a chance to truly shine in Miami, being the number one guy in a backcourt with Goran Dragic and the team could build around those two as the future of the franchise. The Warriors, in return, would get the rim protection they've missed since losing Andrew Bogut to the Mavs over the summer.

This potential blockbuster deal would send shockwaves throughout the NBA and a "Big 4" of Durant, Curry, Draymond, and Whiteside would almost be unfair. As the deadline gets closer, talks between the two teams could definitely begin to gain some traction.
