After the UFC made the decision to strip Conor McGregor of the featherweight title belt and awarded it to Jose Aldo, either Holloway or Pettis will fight against the Brazilian. Max Holloway will put his nine-fight win streak on the line against Anthony Pettis for the unification featherweight interim title. The original main event between Light Heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier vs. Anthony Johnson was canceled because of an injury. The Max Holloway and Anthony Pettis match will be the new headline fight of the UFC 206 fight card this Saturday, December 10, at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto.

Max Holloway plans to avenge his loss against former featherweight Conor McGregor

Sooner or later, by going up to lightweight and defeating Conor McGregor, Holloway wants to repeat history and be the best in the world in two divisions. He has wins over top fighters like Jeremy Stephens, Charles Oliviera, Cub Swanson, and Ricardo Lamas. He is currently on a fantastic 9-fight winning-streak, and he has sealed his spot as the all-time winningest featherweight. The record for most consecutive UFC victories is 16 by former middleweight champion Anderson Silva-- Jon Jones, Georges St-Pierre, and current flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson have 11 or more consecutive wins. But in 2013, Holloway’s record was stained by a unanimous-decision loss to Conor McGregor.

Anthony Pettis is also ready to be a two-division champion

In August 2016, Pettis moved down to the 145-pound division, broke a three-fight losing streak, and looked spectacular in his featherweight debut by choking out Charles Oliveira, SherDog reported.

Pettis is one of the UFC's most dangerous kickboxers, and he holds a third-degree black belt in Taekwondo. Feints are Pettis’ biggest weapon; they keep his back off the fence and bluffing his opponents gives him the advantage to fight at the distance he's most dangerous.

Max Holloway and Anthony Pettis are set to destroy anyone in the featherweight division until they get to fight Conor McGregor.

The pair is expecting a thrilling match considering both fighters are aiming to engage in a stand-up battle!
