During his UFC 206 post-fight win interview, "Cowboy" called out any welterweight fighter to step up to face him and Jorge Masvidal didn't waste any time to answer his call. After a little back and forth on Twitter, UFC's negotiators confirmed they would face-off in Denver, Colorado on January 28th as part of UFC on Fox; it will be the first major mixed martial arts promotion in Cerrone’s hometown since 2012.

Both fighters moved from lightweight to welterweight and started having a lot of success in the new division. Cerrone and Masvidal like to get up and scrap, having the same ability to knock out their opponent with savage kicks -- so, this fight should be very exciting!

He got his wish when the UFC's matchmakers said he would fight in Colorado next month at the Pepsi Center. Donald is one of the most active fighters in the Ultimate Fighting Championship and coming off a huge head kick knockout of Matt Brown at UFC 206. It is his fourth solid win since he moved to welterweight and he's shooting up the rankings into the UFC’s number five spot among the top fighters.

“If I had to hurry up and choose someone for Denver, that doesn’t matter to me at all,” Cerrone stated.

Masvidal also got his wish to fight "Cowboy"

He had been campaigning for months, after a lot of phone calls and some words on Twitter, Masvidal gets the fight. His past victory over Jake Ellenberger was controversial; he got the technical knockout, but Ellenberger's toe was stuck in the cage and couldn't protect himself correctly.

But make no mistake about it, Masvidal's fighting style is a combination of powerful stand-up and destructive kicks; so, he's a serious threat to "Cowboy" -- Masvidal will stand in front of him and battle.

There will be no love lost between these two fan-favorite fighters following an intense social media argument.
