The Washington Wizards have started the season with a very disappointing 12-15 record. The team may have to make some changes to their roster before the trade deadline if they want to have a shot at making the NBA Eastern Conference playoffs. There have been rumblings around the organization that disgruntled star Point Guard John Wall may be the piece that gets traded away.

John Wall leaving the Wizards?

The Washington Wizards could be looking to move John Wall ahead of the NBA trade deadline for a number of reasons. One of those reasons is starting shooting guard Bradley Beal. Beal signed a $130 million dollar maximum contract this past off-season and there are rumors circling around that he and Wall have a strained relationship.

Some speculate that Wall is not happy with the team giving Beal such a large contract because he is not satisfied with his own.

Wall signed a 5 year, $80 million dollar extension in 2013, and he believes he has outplayed that contract, and deserves to be paid more and have his terms renegotiated. Currently Brad Beal is making about $50 million dollars more than Wall based on salary. There is also speculation that the two backcourt mates just simply dont get along. This may be enough for the Wizards to send him packing to another NBA city. Washington may also trade Wall because of the valuable assets they could get in return. The team would be able to do a complete rebuild so that they can be more competitive in the near future.

Detroit in discussions to acquire All-Star

The Detroit Pistons have emerged as one of the favorites to attain the services of John Wall. The Pistons had high hopes for this season after making the playoffs last year by coincidentally beating the Washington Wizards in one of the last games of the regular season.

They were then swept by the NBA champion Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round. They have started this season with a record of 14-16, and also may need to make some changes if they want to make a playoff run this year.

The proposed trade between the two teams would send Stanley Johnson, point guard Reggie Jackson and two future first-round picks to Washington, and Detroit would get an All-Star in John Wall to pair with Andre Drummond.

This blockbuster trade proposal could benefit both teams because the Wizards would have pieces to start a rebuild, and the Pistons would get an upgrade at the Point Guard position, which could be enough for them to win now.
