Heath Slater & Rhyno vs. the Wyatt Family: Tag Team Match for the Smackdown Tag Team Championship

Everything started off with the Smackdown Tag Team Championship match. It was a really good showing by all competitors. Heath Slater and Rhyno put up a valiant effort; but Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton were too much. A distraction by Wyatt opened space for the RKO and the victory.

The Smackdown tag team division will now be ruled by the Wyatt Family and it’s not likely that they will be dethroned anytime soon. This is also great for Bray; as he hasn’t done much since the draft and as tag team champion with Orton, this will be a great contributor to reignite their feud.

Nikki Bella vs. Carmella: No DQ Match

Nikki Bella vs. Carmella’ was decent. They definitely tried hard and at least the crowd was interested. The fire extinguisher didn’t seem necessary as they had more weapons at their disposal. Yet; that was the deciding factor as it was enough to distract Carmella. Nikki hit the Rack Attack for the win. Maybe this was just the foundation to ‘Nikki vs. Natalya.’

Dolph Ziggler vs. Miz: Ladder Match for the Intercontinental Championship

The bout for the Intercontinental Championship was really exciting and a good fit to the ladder match legacy. Miz and Ziggler pulled off a ladder match worth remembering. On one occasion too many; Ziggler nearly got the crown jewel.

Two “shots to the south of the peninsula” by Miz was enough for him to retain the Intercontinental Championship. This was Ziggler’s “last chance” at the title; but there is still beef between Miz and General Manager Daniel Bryan, so we might see a rematch before the Royal Rumble.

Baron Corbin vs. Kalisto: Chairs Match

Corbin vs. Kalisto’ was okay at the very best. You can tell that they tried hard to keep the crowd hyped after the previous match. Kalisto did have his moments; yet the bigger man was too much. An ‘End of Days’ on a pile of chairs was too much for the luchador and Corbin got the pinfall.

It’s hard to tell as to what is next for these competitors.

Becky Lynch vs. Alexa Bliss: Tables Match for the Smackdown Women's Championship

The tables match between Becky Lynch and Alexa Bliss was without doubt better than Nikki vs. Carmella. The aggressiveness and athletic ability of both competitors was on point, which helped progress the intensity of this match. It came to an end after a powerbomb onto a table outside the ring. With that; Bliss was crowded new Smackdown Women’s Champion. Without a doubt; Bliss can only get better as one of the better heels on Smackdown and this feud can only get better. Both women have what it takes to have better encounters.

AJ Styles vs. Dean Ambrose: TLC Match for the WWE Championship

There has never been a “bad” TLC match; so both men had one hell of a task ahead of them and they delivered. Styles did a great job at slowly taking apart Ambrose, every time he got the chance. Then when Ambrose saw the opening, he slammed Styles right down the middle of four open chairs. Everything was in Ambrose’s favor for some time; mainly after an elbow drop from the top of a ladder on Styles’ midsection (through the announcer’s table). Then it was back-and-forth once Styles mounted some impressive offense; until James Ellsworth showed up. Just as Ambrose was about to retrieve the championship; Ellsworth sent Ambrose crashing down onto the tables outside the ring.

That was more than enough for Styles to make the climb and retain the WWE Championship.

Ellsworth confirmed that he wants to use his title opportunity and hopefully win the championship and then give Ambrose a shot. Ellsworth will most likely face the consequences come "Smackdown Live" while Styles vs. Ambrose continues.
