For Sunday night's WWE "Survivor Series" 2016 results the opening match would feature the women's rosters in a Team Raw vs. Team SmackDown Live 5-on-5 traditional elimination match. Each brand's team consisted of five of their best women's wrestlers. However, the match would not get off to a start without an issue beforehand. Luckily, the issue was quickly resolved so the match could get underway to start off the latest pro wrestling pay-per-view.

Team SmackDown star hurt?

Each of the teams had their five women's wrestlers introduced, sort of. First up, Team Raw was introduced. Alicia Fox, Bayley, Nia Jax, Sasha Banks, and women's champion Charlotte all made their way to the ring for their team, with Dana Brooke escorting the champ.

SmackDown's team began their introductions. Women's champ Becky Lynch was out first, followed by Naomi, Alexa Bliss, and Carmella. However, Nikki Bella's music hit and she was missing in action.

The camera was shown backstage as someone was rushing down the hall. Nikki Bella was shown holding the back of her head with a referee, Natalya, and Daniel Bryan checking on her. She said she was unsure what happened but someone hit her from behind. She was told she couldn't compete, so Daniel Bryan agreed Natalya should represent the team.

She made her way out and the match got started.

Raw issues & first eliminations

Raw also had their own issues early in the match as the team captain Charlotte got into a dispute with Sasha Banks. Bayley came in to get between them, but Becky Lynch took advantage with a forearm uppercut to Raw's champ.

From there, a brawl broke out briefly between both teams.

Team Raw's Nia Jax was an early force and took it to all five members of Team SmackDown.

However, once Carmella got in the ring, she was eventually eliminated first by Alicia Fox of Raw. Moments later, Fox herself was eliminated by Alexa Bliss. SmackDown lost yet another member when Nia Jax beat up Naomi on the apron and tossed her near the bottom of the ramp. Naomi was out cold as the ref counted up to 10 and she was announced eliminated.

Match goes to 3 vs. 3

Sasha Banks came in to clean house for a while against Team SmackDown and hit several nice moves in the corner on Alexa Bliss and Natalya. She went from a Backstabber on Natalya, but Bliss intervened. The Boss punched away Bliss, but that allowed Natalya a surprise rollup pinfall to get rid of the former women's champ.

That would make the match just three members per team.

it was down to Charlotte, Bayley and Nia Jax for Team Raw, with Becky Lynch, Natalya and Alexa Bliss for SmackDown.

Charlotte was able to get the upper hand against SmackDown replacement Natalya and pinned her for the next elimination.

And the match winners are...

SmackDown would go down to just two competitors with women's champion Becky Lynch and Alexa Bliss remaining. However, that was shortlived as Nia Jax soon was eliminated too. She angrily took it out on Lynch, yanking her by the leg out of the ring and tossing her into the crowd barrier.

Jax tossed Becky back in the ring and Bliss made a tag to get herself in the match. She watched as Becky rolled to the outside, and then turned around to take a huge boot from Charlotte. Bliss was the next elimination, leaving Lynch on her own.

Becky was able to gain control against Charlotte and even got what appeared to be a winning pinfall. However, Bayley made a run-in to break things up. Charlotte would then get over to make a tag, leaving Bayley to take on Becky in the ring. Bayley was able to prove her worth for Team Raw as she eventually hit the Bayley-to-Belly suplex to grab the win.

Charlotte smiled from the apron and then came in to have her arms raised.

Charlotte proceeded to attack her winning teammate post-match, showing her true colors weren't all Team Red.

This is sure to advance the feud between Bayley and the women's champion going forward.
