The 2016 NFL schedule brings a triple-header of action on Thanksgiving Day 2016. While many people around the country will be enjoying their special lunches or dinners with family and friends, there will also be Football being played. Many households are likely to tune into a game or two. Here's a breakdown of what NFL teams will play on Thanksgiving Day 2016 for the 2016 games schedule.

Vikings at Lions 12:30 p.m. ET

Two NFC squads that are in the playoff hunt will meet up in the first game on the day's NFL schedule.

It will be Matthew Stafford and the Detroit Lions hosting Sam Bradford and the Minnesota Vikings.

Both teams had identical records heading into Sunday's action. However, they each had a game on their Week 11 schedule. Detroit had to host the 2-7 Jaguars, while Minnesota hosted the 4-4-1 Arizona Cardinals.

The Vikings and Lions will meet up starting at 12:30 p.m. Eastern Time on Thanksgiving Day. That's right after the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade has concluded, giving perfect time to switch to the game. It will be shown live on CBS around the country, with CBS All-Access showing the game live streaming to subscribers.

Redskins at Cowboys 4:30 p.m. ET

A classic Thanksgiving Day game will feature a storied rivalry.

Two of the NFC East's playoff hopefuls will take each other on. Dallas gets to host the Redskins at AT&T Stadium. As of this report, the Cowboys owned the best record in the league at 8-1.

However, Dallas was set to take on Baltimore for their Week 11 game, while the Washington Redskins had to take on a tough Green Bay Packers team at home for Sunday Night Football.

How will the teams fare in these games?

Either way, they'll still be meeting on Thanksgiving Day and it's always a fun battle between these foes. The Washington Redskins vs. Dallas Cowboys live game time is 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time via FOX Sports for TV viewing or FOX Sports Go for live streaming feeds.

Steelers at Colts 8:30 p.m. ET

The grand finale for the triple-header of NFL Thanksgiving games will feature Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers taking on Andrew Luck and the Colts in Indianapolis. Both teams were considered out of playoff contention as of this report, but a lot can change in the remaining weeks of the season.

The Steelers looked like one of the top contenders in the AFC earlier this season, and may still have a shot to catch up with the Ravens for the division lead. The Colts were in the AFC Championship Game several seasons ago, so don't count them out completely.

Both teams were scheduled for games during Sunday's Week 11 action.

The Steelers visited the winless Cleveland Browns, while Indianapolis had a home game with the Tennessee Titans.

The Steelers vs. Colts game goes live on NBC for television viewers starting at 8:30 p.m. Eastern Time on Thursday. To watch the NFL game live streaming online, cable and satellite subscribers should check out NBC Sports Live Extra website or compatible mobile apps, where available.

Even though Thanksgiving Day is known for feasting with the family, football has also become a part of the tradition. With the NFL post-season quickly approaching, these games could factor into the final post-season seedings at the end of the 2016 season.
