Week 12 of the fantasy Football season will soon be upon us and fantasy owners will be faced with another critical decision. Which defense do I play? And which one should be picked up from the waiver wire if a current defense is in a tough matchup? Last week we gave you some great options. The following top ten will be just as good.

1. Broncos D/ST.

The Broncos are coming off a bye and will be well rested for this game. That should mean a good day for a defense that has been one of the best in the league all season long, especially because the Chiefs aren't exactly an offensive juggernaut. Start the Broncos defense with confidence in week 12.

2. Bills D/ST.

The Buffalo Bills have to be one of the top fantasy defenses in week 12. The Jaguars have the worst turnover differential in the NFL at -15 and you can pretty much count on at least one Blake Bortles pick. And the Bills are playing at home! Love that defense this week.

3. Saints D/ST.

Did you watch the Rams in week 11? Jared Goff is incapable of throwing a pass more than ten yards downfield. He narrowly avoided some turnovers in the Rams loss to the Dolphins but won't be so lucky in his second time out. Start the Saints defense in fantasy leagues with confidence.

4. Dolphins D/ST.

The Dolphins defense shut down the Rams offense in week 11 and should have an even easier time in week 12 against a 49ers offense that has struggled to produce all season.

5. Patriots D/ST.

The New York Jets are really bad. The Patriots are really good. I don't care who the Jets name as quarterback, the Patriots defense will have no trouble dismantling a weak Jets offense in what should be a dominant fantasy performance.

6. Seahawks D/ST.

It seems criminal to rank the defense this low, but the Buccaneers do manage to produce decent offensive output, especially at home.

Winston does throw an occasional pick, so it's still safe to start this fantasy defense on the road.

7. Giants D/ST.

Anybody playing Cleveland has the chance for a big fantasy day. The Steelers found that out in week 11, scoring 23 fantasy points. Now a Giants team that routinely picks off passes gets to play against a winless Cleveland team?

That's a recipe for a big fantasy day.

8. Ravens D/ST.

The Ravens might be .500, but the problems certainly don't lie within their defense. In a rivalry battle with the Bengals, I'll gladly take my chances with a Ravens defense that has been elite all year. It doesn't hurt that A.J. Green is out for the year.

9. Chiefs D/ST.

Sunday night's game between the Chiefs and Broncos could easily be the lowest scoring one of the year. Trevor Siemian is conservative in his decision making but still tends to make some mistakes. If the Chiefs want to win this game, they'll have to force some turnovers. That makes it worth playing this fantasy defense in week 12.

10. Lions D/ST.

The Vikings might have scored 30 points on the Cardinals, but 14 of them were on special teams or defense.

That's not going to happen to a team like the Lions. Bradford will struggle to find open receivers against a tough Lions defense and that should help produce a solid fantasy day for the unit.
