With the ATP Tour making its final steps of the season by heading to London where the ATP Finals is set to start on Sunday, some early celebration was on the table. And this time, Roger Federer was the leading figure. The Swiss star went through a difficult season with little success on the ATP Tour but that was not enough to send him away from the spotlights.

Over the past 15 years, Federer has been the leading character of the men's Tennis and it seems that change is still far away judging by the latest rewards given.

Federer was given two awards

While Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic are still to decide who's going to end the season as the world no.1Federer already has put something in his pocket.

He was voted by his tennis peers as the winner of the Sportsmanship Award. It was more like a habitual activity rather than an unprecedented act simply because the Swiss won this award for the 12th time in his career. On top of that, he also won the title as the most popular player based on the fans vote.

Regarding his 2nd achievement, it was the 14th time in a row when he was given this award. For 14 years Federer has been the most beloved figure of the men's tennis. This timespan checks with Federer being at the top of the professional tennis. Since 2002, when he first got into the top 10, the Swiss has been the guide of the tour.

In 2016, as a result of injuries, Roger Federer will end the season outside the top 10 for the first time since 2002.

There is a bit of drama but all demands are on his motivation for the future.

Federer wants more

With many voices arguing in favor of his retirement, he seems to defy all the critics. As Federer previously stated, he is determined to compete for a few more seasons on a professional level. 18 years have passed since he turned pro, but he still finds joy on the tennis court and motivation to keep doing the same thing.

If you are Federer and you won 17 Grand Slam titles and dozens and dozens of ATP trophies and awards, then you must possess some celestial mindset in order to convince yourself that there is room for more.
