Neither Roger Federer nor Maria Sharapova have been active on the Tennis courts lately. Federer has missed several months with injury while Sharapova still sits out her lengthy suspension. However, both Roger Federer and Maria Sharapova were active with social media updates this week. Federer posted an update on Wednesday on his Facebook page. Meanwhile Sharapova recently tweeted some pics that showed her on the streets of New York City.

Federer participates in #MannequinChallenge

Federer, who is expected to return to tour in time for the 2017 Australian Open in January, used the #MannequinChallenge hashtag in conjunction with his recent Facebook update.

That appears to be a challenge involving standing still for a set period of time, sometimes in difficult positions or with challenging expressions. The video on Roger Federer's Facebook page is set in what appears to be a large display room or kitchen area. The footage shows several people staying perfectly still and it finishes with a shot of a Federer as a mannequin. At the end he breaks his pose, glances at the camera, and helps himself to what appears to be a chocolate treat (everyone else breaks 'character' as well and applauds).

Maria Sharapova tweeted from New York City

Maria Sharapova has several recent posts about Sugarpova, something she is constantly pushing with her social media accounts to the point of maybe being a spammer.

However, her two most recent posts were about training and travel. On November 21st she retweeted a picture of herself that shows her in what looks like an intense workout. Then on Tuesday evening she tweeted pictures of herself in what she called "The Streets of #NYC." In one photo, she and her photographer used a trick shot of sorts where she appears to be in mid-air.

In the other photo, perhaps she's showing that she's not scared of visiting the proverbial wrong side of the tracks. Scaffolding and graffiti are both in the shot of her walking down what kind of looks like a tough street, with a black hat and black coat on.
