Tonight we have a small 4 game NBA slate so today it's all about picking the right stud and supporting value plays since ownership will be high on everyone due to the lack of choices. Lets dive right into it.

NBA stud fantasy plays

The top overall fantasy play today absolutely has to be Russell Westbrook ($12,500 DK /$56 Yahoo) vs the Los Angeles Lakers. He should have a feast against LA who could be without the services of starting point guard D'Angelo Russell who is listed as questionable. "Beastbrook" has been locked in all season and in a game against the Lakers earlier this year he dropped a whopping 71 fantasy points.

The Oklahoma City Thunder guard should be locked and loaded in all lineups and on a small slate like tonight I wouldn't recommend fading him despite his exorbitant price.

Anthony Davis ($11,000 DK /Yahoo) is also in play tonight as one of the top options on the board. He is taking on the Atlanta Hawks who are actually pretty solid defensively but "AD" has shown us time and time again that he is pretty much match-up proof. The only thing really holding him back is his health and if he can stay on the court he's always a threat to put up ridiculous numbers across the board. I think he's in a good spot tonight to have one of those monster lines and his ownership might be lower due to people jumping on the Russell Westbrook train.

At shooting guard I am really inclined to pay up for Jimmy Butler ($9,200 DK /$41 Yahoo) in an up-tempo game vs. the Denver Nuggets who aren't that great of a defensive team. Jimmy "Buckets" has been on fire in last 5 games averaging about 50 fantasy points a game. In his last game he dropped 40 actual points on the Lakers on his way to a 60 fantasy point outing.

I think it would definitely be wise to get Butler in a lineup or two and ride him while he's hot.

NBA value plays

If you want to fit one or possibly two of the studs on your team you're definitely gonna need to grab the best value plays when constructing your rosters. The key to winning daily fantasy NBA tournaments is picking the best low salary players and mixing them in with the highest scoring superstars of the night.

This is called the "stars" and "scrubs" strategy. Tonight's slate has a few players in the "scrubs" category that can help you construct a winning lineup.

Kyle Korver ($3,900 DK /$11 Yahoo) comes to mind at first glance when it comes to hitting value tonight. He has a great match up with the New Orleans Hornets and is a starter that gets consistent minutes. If his shot is falling look out because he could have a big night at a very low cost to roster him.

I like Evan Turner ($4,100 DK/$11 Yahoo) at the small forward spot if you're looking for value at that position. His minutes have been inconsistent but he has seen 30 minutes in 2 of the last 4. Al Farouq-Aminu is also still on the shelf so that has opened up more minutes for the off-season acquisition by the Portland Trailblazers.

Due to his ability to contribute across the board, his match-up with the Knicks looks very enticing.

If Joakim Noah is still out tonight for the NY Knicks, then that puts Kyle O'Quinn ($3,600 DK/$10 Yahoo) in a very favorable position. He started the last game but only played 17 minutes due to foul trouble. If he can log 25 to 30 mins tonight then he could be a really sneaky play at near minimum salary.
