Fantasy Football is fraught with tough decisions. Which defenses do owners play in a week? Which players should owners trade for? And how do I improve my team on the waiver wire every week? The first step to improving any team on the waiver wire is to read as much as possible. Here are five players that should be added from fantasy waiver wires this week.

1. Jared Cook (2.7% Ownership, ESPN)

What took you so long? I touted Cook as a great fantasy option before the season began but he struggled and was eventually no longer worth a roster spot. But now he's back! Aaron Rodgers completed six passes to Cook from 105 receiving yards and a touchdown on Sunday night.

That's a great sign for a tight end who hadn't done anything all year. Grab him from the waiver wire if you are in need of a tight end.

2. Tyler Boyd (5.1% Ownership, ESPN)

Andy Dalton has to throw the ball to someone and Boyd was the main option against the Bills in week 11. Boyd had more than 50 receiving yards and scored a touchdown against the Bills. Without Green, Boyd is worth owning in all fantasy leagues and is worth a waiver wire claim this week.

3. Wendell Smallwood (2.3% Ownership, ESPN)

The Eagles lost both Ryan Matthews and Darren Sproles to injuries in week 11, leaving Smallwood as the main options in the Eagles offense. If they both miss time, Smallwood could easily become a solid fantasy starter in week 12.

Running back depth on the waiver wire is so scarce that it would be wise for fantasy owners to add the Eagles backup this week.

4. Sammy Watkins (33% Ownership, ESPN)

Some Bills players, like Preston Brown, are suggesting that Watkins could make a return against the Jaguars this week. When Watkins comes back, he will be by far the best wide receiver on an offense without Robert Woods.

That could easily make him a fantasy star in the second half of the year. The Bills wide receiver is definitely worth the add before he comes back.

5. Saints D/ST (3.7% Ownership, ESPN)

The Saints defense is terrible in most situations, but they will have a great fantasy matchup in week 12 against a Rams team that can't throw the ball more than 10 yards downfield.

Jared Goff was terrible in his first game and will have at least a few mistakes in his second full game a week after he was destroyed by the Dolphins. Grab the Saints defense from the waiver wire and start them with confidence this week.
