68 years in the making

2016 World Series Game 6 begins tonight at 7:08 PM CST on Fox and already the predictions are under way. According to game simulator, Strat-O-Matic, the Indians are predicted to trump the Cubs in a 7 to 2 final. The Series has already seen its ups and downs of both emotions and excitement as these two Cinderella ball clubs compete for a title neither has earned in over 68 (Indians) and 108 (Cubs) years. However, though many people leave the games up to chance when determining the winner, simulations have made the gameeasier than ever to predict the winner, especially the 2016 World Series.

2016Game 6 prediction

According to Strat-O-Matic, a game simulator, the winner will be the Cleveland Indians in Game 6 tonight. The simulator predicts a poor showing from the Cubs bull pen, while the Indians come out throwing heat. Furthermore, the Indians will have a powerhouse in their bats mainly from Ramirez. The simulator also predicts that Game 6 won't even make it to the bottom of the 9th, with Cub's Fowler flying out to Indian's Crisp. Earlier predictions can also be seen here.

And if there is reason to doubt the simulator, there isn't much ground to stand on. According to the stats, the simulator predicted the Game 1 winner and was only off by two runs. In Game 2, the simulation predicted the early leave of Bauer for pitching relief.

In Game 3, it predicted on the nose the score of 1 to 0. Game 4 was predicted with the home run from Santos. And to top it off, Game 5 predicted the good showing of Cub's Lester on the mound.

Cubs lose? "There's always next year..."

Sadly though, the Cubs season may be ended tonight in a flurry of poor Cubs defense and excellent Indian's offense.

For the many fans that hoped the Curse of the Goat and other superstitions would be laid to rest this season for the Cubs, they may have to wait till next year. However, there is always a chance that the simulator gets this one extremely wrong and the Chicago Cubs come out swinging and push this series to Game 7, and to that I say good luck.

But for the purposes of stats and predictions, it looks like the Indians have Game 6in the bag and by tomorrow morning, a 2016 World Series ring on their finger. And for the Cubs? As they say in Chicago, "There's always next year."
