The Buffalo Bills defense has played insanely well in their last three victories over the Cardinals, Patriots, and Rams. Preston Brown was bold enough to troll the Rams on Twitter after the team's victory. A huge part of the Bills success can be attributed to the play of linebackers Zach Brown and Lorenzo Alexander, who have routinely dominated opposing defenses in almost every single week of the year. Lorenzo Alexander recorded three sacks against the Rams in week 5 and Zach Brown recorded a whopping 18 tackles against the Patriots in week 4. Those unbelievable performances have placed both linebackers into first place in two separate categories.

Individual Sack and Tackle Leaders.

Zach Brown currently leads the NFL in tackles and has 51 of them in just five weeks. That's more than 10 tackles in every game! Star Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly isn't far behind with 46 tackles in four weeks, but that doesn't take away from the elite level that Brown has played at in the first five weeks. And he still had eighteen tackles against the Patriots! Eighteen! That couldbe the best individual performance of any defender in the league this year. And the Bills are hoping he can keep up that level of production all season.

Bills defender Lorenzo Alexander is also leading the NFL in sacks. After three against the Rams, Alexander now has 6.5 sacks and is the individual leader in the NFL.

His beastly performance against the Rams is proof of just how valuable Alexander is to the Bills defense. But will he be able to keep up this pace for the rest of the season? He may be able to thanks to the timely return of several key defensive players.

Return of Other Defensive Stars.

It's even more impressive that the Bills have been able to do all of this without key players like Marcell Dareus, Reggie Ragland, and Shaq Lawson.

Dareus will be back next week and Lawson's return shouldn't be far behind. Ragland is out for the season, but players like Lorenzo Alexander and Zach Brown have proven that they are more than capable of filling the void and have proved it by leading the league in two different statistical categories this year.

Once these players come back, the Bills defense will be a force to be reckoned with in 2016.
