It also won the three ODI matches which were played before the Test matches.

The previous Test match was played in Dubai where Azhar Ali’s 302 not out helped the Pakistani team register a 56 run win over the Calypso brigade. In Abu Dhabi a first inning century by Younis Khan and a ten-wicket haul by leg-spinner Yasir Shah assured a win by 133 runs.

Gruelling season ahead

Pakistan is to tour New Zealand shortly and play two tests starting from November 17 followed by three tests in Australia.

It will be an exhausting season for the Pakistanis, and they will be keen to maintain their winning momentum.

Led by Mickey Arthur, the Pakistani coach, the team has become a tightly knit unit and a far cry from the fickle team it once was. The coach said that he wants consistent performance from the team and will like to judge the team by eight Tests which the team will play in the coming months.
