After losing the first game, Bangladesh faces England in the 2nd ODI in Dhaka on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2016. The match starts at 8:30 GMT, 2:30 BST. The tag of choking like the South Africans seems to fit more on Bangladesh, and this is a dangerous precedent for their future. The Mirpur crowd did not have anything to complain since they had their full hands for much of the 1st game.

Bangladesh wins by 34 runs . Series level 1-1.

Final scores:

50 overs - Bangladesh 238/8 [Mahmudullah 75, Mashrafe Mortaza 44]

England 204 all-out in 44.4 overs.

England wins the toss and fields first.

Line-ups

Bangladesh : S Rahman, Tamim Iqbal, Mahmudullah, Rahim, Shakib, Nasir Hossain, Imrul Kayes, Saikat, Mortaza, Shafiul and Taskin Ahmed.

Bangladesh could be condemned for floundering away their chances, but both sides had their moments despair and glory. Mosharraf injured his hand in the last match and is unlikely to play.

England will surely try to capitalize on their win and push to secure the series. However, Jason Roy suffered a shoulder injury while fielding and Jonny Bairstow had a hip flexor strain and their contribution will be crucial if England wants to clinch the series.

The support staff will have their hands full while trying to recharge their wards who find the conditions of heat and humidity excruciating. The No 5 slot is tailor-made for Ben Stokes who proved his caliber by thwarting the spinners with his batting skills.

Bangladesh will have to retrospect about their collapse. They will have to find a way to extend their batting lineup urgently, and the job becomes even more urgent because Mushfiqur Rahim’s form is also declining.

TV telecast and online streaming details:

Gazi TV will show the game live in Bangladesh while Sky Sports and Star Sports will broadcast in the UK and India respectively.

The online stream can be watched at the official website of GTV.com, Starsports.com, and Skysports.com.

Team news:

In the English side if Bairstow is not able to pass the morning fitness test, Sam Billings will be replacing him, and if England feels the need for an extra spinner, they could have the services of all-rounder Liam Dawson.

Mirpur has a slow batting pitch as we had seen in the first match and it is unlikely that the next pitch will be any different. There is also a forecast of rain later in the afternoon.

Jake Ball who made his debut with a five-wicket haul in place of Liam Plunkett who is down with a toe injury. The ball will be in the team for the remaining two matches also.

Imrul scored a hundred and ensured his place in the Bangladesh XI and with Nasir Hossain and Al-Amin Hossain in contention, chances of Soumya Sarkar getting into the team is very bleak. The two could replace Mosaddek Hossain and Mosharraf Hossain.
