Finally, real college Football is being played! Here are the finals for the top 25 teams in week one:

#25 - Florida 24 - UMass 7 -The Gators began their season with a win at The Swamp. New quarterback, Luke Del Rio scored two touchdowns to lead the way.

#24 Oregon 53 - Cal Davis 28 -QuarterbackDakota Prukop and running back Royce Freeman combined for five touchdowns in the Ducks opening win over FCS opponent Cal Davis, The 53 points offensively is very Duck-like but the 400 yards they gave up to an FCS foe is cause for concern moving forward.

#23 Baylor 55 - Northwestern State 7 -Same old Baylor Bears so far.

Of course their opponent wasn't like Oklahoma or one of the other big boys. Good for the players and for an excellent coach, Jim Grobe.

#21 Oklahoma State 61 - Southeastern Louisiana 7 - The Cowboys scored at will in this one. Four different backs tallied at least one score each.

#19 Louisville 70 - Charlotte 14 -Cardinal quarterback Lamar Jackson accounted for eight touchdowns in the blowout.

#18 Georgia 33 - #22 North Carolina 24 -The Bulldogs looked like the team to watch in the SEC East as they came from behind to beat North Carolina. Nick Chubb rushed for 222 yards and two TD's in Kirby Smart's head coaching debut.

#17 Iowa 41 - Miami (Ohio) 21 -The Hawkeyes seem to have picked up where they left off last season.

They had little trouble dispatching mid-major Miami of Ohio.

#16 UCLA 24 - Texas A&M 31 (overtime) -The Bruins came back from a two touchdown deficit to send the game into overtime. After scoring first, the Aggies held on downs to win the game in front of 107,000 at Kyle Field.

#14 Washington 48 - Rutgers 14 -Washington seemed to live up to the hype poured on them all Summer.

Rutgers isn't a world beater but they are a decent FBS team and the Huskies rolled.

#13 TCU 59 - South Dakota State 41 -Much ballyhooed quarterback Kenny Hill--transfer from Texas A&M--passed for 484 yards and five touchdowns in the Horned Frogs opener.

#12 Michigan State 28 - Furman 13 - The Spartans sputtered on offense but were able to put things together well enough to hold off FCS foe Furman.

Put it in the "it's a win" column and start getting ready for Notre Dame in two weeks.

College football top ten scoreboard

#10 Notre Dame 47 - Texas 50 (overtime) -The Longhorns pulled out an exciting overtime win versus the Fighting Irish.

#9 Tennessee 20 - Appalachian State 13 (overtime) -The Volunteers returned 19 starters from last season's team. But they didn't look a thing like the team that destroyed #12 Northwestern in the Outback Bowl in January. They recovered Josh Dobbs fumble into the endzone for the score that would win it in OT.

#8 Stanford 26 - Kansas State 13 -Christian McCaffrey rushed for 126 yards and scored two touchdowns in the win.

#7 Michigan 63 - Hawaii 3 -The Rainbow Warriors were completely outmatched.

#6 Ohio State 77 - Bowling Green 10 -See #7 above.

#5 LSU 16 - Wisconsin 14 -Same Les Miles, same LSU offense. Hey, I like Les Miles but he is who he is.

#3 Oklahoma 23 - #15 Houston 33 -Very entertaining football game. And yes, Houston is the better team this year.

#2 Clemson 19 - Auburn 13 -Auburn actually looked much improved over 2015 despite losing the game. Clemson is a heck of a football team, Auburn just did a good job staying in the game.

#1 Alabama 52 - Southern Cal 6 -It has been 19 years since Southern Cal was held out of the endzone for an entire game. The Tide's defense held the Trojans to 194 total yards as well.
