Fantasy Football is a challenging game enjoyed by a huge number of Americans across the country. I'm here to help you win those leagues and earn those cash prizes that only go to the best fantasy players. So far, I've compiled lists of the best running backs and wide receivers. Now I'm going to rank the best tight ends for week 1 of the NFL season.

1. Rob Gronkowski

Is there really any doubt? Gronkowski was easily been the best fantasy tight end and is going in the first round of fantasy drafts again this season. It doesn't really matter who he plays against, but a matchup against the Cardinals definitely won't hurt his cause.

Gronkowski absolutely deserves to be ranked number one heading into week 1.

2. Jordan Reed

The Redskins tight end proved that he is among the elite ranks at the position by scoring the second most fantasy points at the position last year. He gets a favorable matchup against a Steelers team that struggles to defend the tight end and will get plenty of looks from Kirk Cousins, who seems to target Reed 10 times a game.

3. Delanie Walker

The Titans tight end quickly established himself as one of Marcus Mariota's leading targets. He was the leading receiver on the team last season and should have even more opportunities to score fantasy points now that Mariota has another year of experience under his belt.

4. Greg Olsen

Olsen was the third leading fantasy scorer among tight ends last year and is still one of Cam Newton's favorite targets. He gets to play against a Denver Broncos defense capable of shutting down every position except for the tight end in week 1. He will probably be the most useful player on the field for Carolina in that game.

5. Travis Kelce

The Chiefs tight end has quickly established himself as one of the better players in the league. But he still hasn't quite reached the elite tight end status of Rob Gronkowski or Greg Olsen. He will try to prove himself against a Chargers defense that held him to just 5 fantasy points in two games last year.

6. Gary Barnidge

Do you know that Gary Barnidge scored the third most fantasy points of all tight ends last season? He did it by making some ridiculous catches for touchdowns that would eventually total 9. He draws a tough matchup against the Eagles, but Barnidge was pretty much matchup proof last year and I don't expect anything different this time.

7. Coby Fleener

Fleener went from a good situation with the Colts to a great one with the Saints and Drew Brees. Brees loves to throw to his tight end and Fleener is more talented than a 35-year-old Benjamin Watson. It doesn't hurt that Fleener will play a team that allowed the third most fantasy points to tight ends last season.

8. Zach Ertz

Zach Ertz finished his season last year with three straight double digit fantasy performances.

It looked like he was finally heating up and he caught a whopping 30 passes in those three weeks. If he continues that stretch in week 1, he will continue to rise up fantasy lists like these until he is a must start every week.

9. Jared Cook

I'm pretty high on a talented tight end who has been mired in a dismal Rams defense since 2013. Now he gets to play with one of the best quarterbacks in the league who desperately needs a talented and athletic tight end to throw to. Rodgers andCook willalso get to play against a Jaguars team that was highly susceptible to opposing tight ends last year.

10. Julius Thomas

The Jaguars tight end never featured prominently in the passing attack until the later half of the regular season.

Thomas scored a touchdownin every game from week 11 to week 14. He gets to take on a Packers defense that is good at stopping opposing wide receivers but only average against tight ends.
