The painful days of watching this year’s NFL preseason games has ended.Teams have made their final cuts to get down to the league’s mandatory 53 man roster. Among those who survived final cuts was QB Colin Kaepernick. Although some fans thought the 49ers might cut Kaepernick, he will be the team’s backup quarterback. Although he refuses to stand for the American flag and wears cutesy piggy cop socks, fans must remember that the NFL is a business.

Professional sports teams only exist to make money.

The 49ers must pay Kaepernick $11.9 million dollars. Even if the 49ers cut him, they would still have to back a Brinks truck into Kaepernick’s driveway.

Although Blaine Gabbert is the starter, the team made Kaepernick the league’s wealthiest clipboard carrying backup quarterback. So he can sit during the national anthem and then continue sitting when the season starts.

Can the 49ers win with a group of hoarded guys named Gabbert, Kaepernick, and Ponder?

The 49ers will start the new season with Blaine Gabbert, Colin Kaepernick and some guy named Christian Ponder. The 49ers are hoarding bad quarterbacks.

Hoarders are people who keep clothes, paper, toys, and food for no obvious reason.

The 49ers are hoarding three less-than-stellar quarterbacks for more than $13 million this season. Gabbert has never thrown for more than 12 touchdowns in a season while Kaepernick only threw six touchdowns last season. The team even said Kaepernick had a “dead arm.” The guy named Ponder hasn’t thrown a touchdown pass in a regular game since November 24, 2013.

It’s going to be a long season for new head coach Chip Kelly.

His team is in a tough division owned by the Seahawks and Cardinals.

The idea of placing the 49ers on Blaine Gabbert’s shoulders will keep Kelly up at night. Every season has a few games when a quarterback must carry his team on his shoulders to win.

How many times have fans seen Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Russell Wilson, or Aaron Rogers do this? These are the guys you want during a two-minute drill to win a game. Does anyone want to give a football to a 49ers quarterback during the final moments of a must win game?

The 49ers expect a group of backup quarterbacks to knock off teams like the Seahawks, Cardinals, Packers, Redskins, and Carolina Panthers. If you don’t think the 49ers have hoarded a group of bad quarterbacks, look to Las Vegas. The 49ers have a 150/1 chance of winning the Super Bowl. Only the Cleveland Browns have a worse chance at 200/1.
